Villa Paraisette is a recently built villa in traditional provencal style situated on the hills facing Menton, the 'pearl of the Cote d'Azur' (French Riviera). Most uniquely, each room of the villa offers a spectacular view of the 'vieille ville' (old city) of Menton and the Mediterranean. The Villa has been built to provide comfort and relaxation, while retaining some features of the typical 'cabanon' (traditional country house) it once was. Two master suites have large private terraces, a third one opens on a partially planted garden. The partially planted garden includes semitropical plants and trees which could not survive without the wonderful climate of Menton. From the covered parking garage, about 30 easy steps take you to the house. The covered outdoor dining area with its wood- or charcoal-burning barbecue allows practically year-round outside dining. The villa is ideally suited to enjoy beach activities, many cultural events such as art museums, galleries and concerts.

A unique experience on the Riviera

We just returned from a wonderful vacation at La Parisette in Menton.The last reviewer was right, pictures do not and cannot compare with the reality of sitting on the terrace and looking out at the view - which one can see from every room in the house, by the way. In particular, my husband loved watching (and commenting on) the activity of the boats going in and out of the harbour! The house itself was very comfortable - we did not even use all of the rooms - and found the kitchen well stocked with pantry items and kitchen supplies.
Menton has a wonderful location for visiting prime Rivera spots such as Cannes, Nice, Cap Ferrat etc, however, one shoud not underestimate the pleasures of Menton itself. The several gardens, shopping, beaches, walks on the Garavan and in town were especially enjoyable. Also, it really was fun to be able to go to Italy in minutes! Just crossing the border put you in another world. And I must mention that Francois, the owner, is very pleasant to deal with - responding quickly to emails and so on. And one more thing - having internet service at the villa was wonderful! I would definitely recomment this property!
Owner's Response: In response to the wonderful Concord couple's comments, I will say, smilingly, that the name of the Villa (Paraïsette) is a little difficult to spell; the Villa requires driving up a winding road and walking up a few steps. I hope that past and future guests will agree, however. that the Villa deserves its name of "little paradise"!

A picture postcard

We stayed at the villa for a week and enjoyed it immensely. The views from all the windows were as promised -- like looking out onto a picture postcard. The home itself had plenty of space, comfortable beds and was clean.

The pantry was pleasantly stocked so we could feed ourselves and children upon our arrival without having to immediately rush out to a store. THe house has all the amenties including a new dishwasher and a great traditional barbeque which we wished we had taken more advantage of. The local market was a great source of fresh fish, vegetables, and cheeses.

There are a lot of stairs both to the house and inside so if that is a concern inquiries should be made. The owner was most accomodating however in providing a baby cot and high chair and pleasant to deal with in all aspects. The drive to the home is a bit tricky the first time it is undertaken especialy in the dark (steep winding roads) but which becomes great fun once you get used to it.

We had a great time at the villa and would stay again.

Perfect Paraisette

How often does a vacation rental exceed your expectations? It is so hard to tell from photos and descriptions what a place will ultimately feel like, but we are so glad we chose Paraisette, because it was all we had hoped for and more. The location, set high above Menton, yields breathtaking terrace views of sea, harbor and town, and the quiet and privacy of the villa are truly tonic. We found the rooms cozy and lovingly decorated in the country-French style, and spotlessly clean; the bathrooms, showers, tubs, were wonderful to use. The fireplace warmed our evenings wonderfully, and the town of Menton and Roquebrune had all we needed. We found a superb traiteur, Le Rendez-Vous Gourmand, in Roquebrune, from which we purchased wine and delicious meals which enjoyed at home each night, lessening our desire to go to restaurants. Perfect!

La Paraisette - Menton

We had an amazing trip with La Paraisette. The views are breathtaking, the house is quite comfortable and perched above the town. It was great exercise to walk to town for lunch-- the uphill return hopefully burned off some of the calories from the meal.

The location is perfect for day trips to Monaco, Italy, Nice (and the rest of the Cote D'Azur) and Provence.

Working with M. Boller was a joy. We hope to return to La Paraisette soon.
