Situated overlooking the popular Cretan village of Plaka with stunning sea views of Souda Bay to the front of the villa and the White mountains to the south. The villa is 5 minutes from Plaka village square where you will find blue flag beach of Almirida is just a few minutes drive from the villa. or for the more adventurous about a 15 min walk. The beautiful Venetian harbour town of Chania is approx 23km to the west and is accessible by car or public transport.

Villa Emilia has a perfect location making it an ideal holiday base for sun worshippers, walkers and anyone wanting to explore this beautiful part of Western Crete. Situated overlooking the popular village of Plaka with stunning views of Souda Bay to the front of the villa and the White mountains to the south. The villa is 5 minutes walk to the village square where you will find a number of tavernas and bars as well as a couple of mini markets. The nearest beach is the blue flag beach at Almirida, just 5 minutes drive away or 15 minutes on foot. Here there are watersports, numerous restaurants and car hire. The beautiful Venetian harbour town of Chania is approx 23 kms to the west and is accessible by car or public transport and Chania market is a must on Saturday mornings. Other places to visit include the beach resort of Kalives, the villages of Vamos, Gavalchori, Armeni, Kefalas etc. Details of places to visit including the Liminopoluis waterpark are provided in the guest book.

The balcony is accessed from each bedroom through patio doors and a table and chairs are provided for each bedroom making it an ideal place to sit with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down and the ferries arriving at Souda Bay. There are binoculars provided in the villa and the bedroom balcony is an ideal viewing point. Downstairs there is sofa bed which can accommodate 2 up to 5ft 9in. The cot is collapsible and can be used in any room. The air conditioning units can be used for cooling or heating making it suitable for any time of year. Linen, blankets and duvets are provided so early and late season bookings are catered for.

Notes:

Air-conditioning (hot and cold) is provided throughout. Solar heating provides hot water day or night and there is also an electrical immersion if required. The property has an EOT Protocol number and is registered with the Greek Tourist Board. Full fire equipment is provided. It has a large garden and sun terrace making it ideal for all. Outside the furnished terraces and patios offer a choice of shade or sun throughout the day, steps from the upper patios lead down to the large secluded private sun terrace where sun beds, a sun parasol and a BBQ are provided. This area is surrounded by oleanders, fruit trees and colourful geraniums making it an ideal area for sunbathing and relaxing. Access to the 40sqm pool is a few steps away through the private gate (which can be locked) and which therefore makes this villa a good choice for those families with young children. There is a large table and chairs provided on the downstairs patio and the upstairs balcony also has tables and chairs.

An excellent villa- the pool was brilliant, especially at night when it was lit-we loved it -Aug 2007 I thought the villa was a nice homey place. The views were fantastic and lovely to draw. Personally I loved the pool. It was a great place to have fun, me and my brother came friends with our neighbours, we played with there ball and there sinking thing in my bobs- Aug 2009 (aged 9) The garden and villa were wonderful especially the bouganvilla (m um of age 9) Brilliant (dad of age 9). Been to Greece 20+ times this is one of the best villas we have had...well worth the visit- Aug 2007.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Crete and will miss the mountains and the blue, blue sea when we return to the UK tomorrow. Villa Emilia has been a very comfortable home for 2 weeks. We love the private patio area particularly as we have been able to keep an eye on the children at the pool whilst relaxing at a safe distance-. The villa itself is very well equipped and thought the welcome groceries a really nice touch. A beautiful island we will be back...July 2007

I meant to email earlier to say how much we enjoyed our holiday in Villa Emilia, Plaka. We had a very relaxing and restful holiday in this lovely area and we enjoyed the beach and all the tavernas. We also had a couple of barbecues watching the sun go down over Souda Bay. The villa itself was lovely and the air-conditioning a real blessing. Thanks for a lovely holiday – Villa Emilia' – July 2006. -

Great Villa perfect for a family of 4,it had everything we needed. The pool was perfect for keeping boys entertained during boiling weather 42c..we will come back again.-June 2007-
