This is a large village house, in Guajar Faraguit, with beamed ceilings and spacious airy rooms. It is detached and set in a small orchard. It has spectacular, uninterrupted views from the house and garden/pool area. Eschewing the usual plain Spanish interior design, the rooms are bright and cheerful, with lots of light and modern furnishings. It is near to all amenities - bar/restaurant, bakery, grocers, bank and 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast. This is the perfect place to escape the pressures and demands of modern life, spending your precious free time in the most stunning part of Spain. The pace of life here is slow, with working mules still being an everyday sight. The setting is a subtropical valley with bananas, olives, mangoes, etc, growing in abundance. On the nearby coast (20 mins drive), lie the Spanish towns of Salobreña and Motril, with bars, shops, restaurants, etc.

Notes: The house was modernised and extended in 2005 and is finished to a high standard. It is equipped as a home from home so that every convenience is available for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. For example, there is a selection of cookery books in English, there are cake tins, tea towels etc. The layout is well thought out and great thought given to how each relates to each other. Views are optimised as the views are simply stunning. The swimming pool is in use from Easter to the end of October. During the winter months it is covered.

Golf, Skiing and Special Interests: Golf Only 20 mins away down on the coast there is a superbly set golf course, between Motril and Salobreña. Play golf with the sea to one side and the snow covered peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the other. The family members, who don’t fell like joining you playing golf, can sunbathe on the beach, take a dip in the sea or enjoy the restaurants and cafes of the golf club. Another golf course will open soon near Salobreña and yet another one half way to Granada Skiing In winter you have the choice to spend a day on the beach or skiing in the Sierra Nevada or in fact you can do both on the very same day!! Only 1½ hour away in the Sierra Nevada you find Spain’s most modern ski resort, Europes´ski station with the most sun hours in winter. Nous voyageons chaque été à travers l’Europe à la recherche de l’endroit rêvé pour passer les vacances : un lieu calme, confortable, charmant, accueillant ; en un mot un lieu parfait. Et lorsque nous avons découvert cette maison à Guajar Faraguit nos espoirs ont été surpassés.

Ce témoignage peut paraître partial mais nous sommes vraiment tombés amoureux de cette maison nichée dans un ravissant village espagnol. Si vous rêvez de passer vos vacances sous le soleil et près de la piscine, entre la Méditerranée et l'Andalousie culturelle, loin du bruit des plages et du chaos touristique, il vous suffit de vous rendre dans cette maison. Une mention spéciale à Gareth et Ros, qui sont des hôtes chaleureux, accueillants et disponibles. Nous sommes allés à Guajar une semaine l'an dernier, nous y retournons deux semaines cet été, et peut-être trois l'an prochain... N’hésitez pas à réserver votre séjour dans ce paradis de vacances!

La description de l’annonce est très fidèle en ce qui concerne l'emplacement, l’aménagement intérieur et les équipements. La maison était impeccablement propre et entretenue à notre arrivée. Les propriétaires ont répondu rapidement et précisément lorsque nous les avons joins par téléphone avant et lors de notre séjour.

The perfect place for holidays

We travelled for years accross europe, dreaming of one place where everything is perfect, quiet, convenient, charming and welcoming. Our hopes were overwelmed by this house in Guajar Faraguit. We know this will seem partial, but we truly fell in love with that house in a marvelous spanish little village. If you want to spend your holidays under the sun and near the pool, beetween mediterranean sea and cultural andalousia, far from the noisy beaches and from the touristic mess, just go there. Special mention to Gareth and Ros who are the most welcoming persons. We went there for one week last year, we will go there for two weeks this summer, maybe next year for three... Book your stay for a holidays paradise !

The description was really accurate regarding location, layout and facilities. The house was spotlessly clean and well-maintained. Owners have responded quickly and precisely when we asked about the house.
