This house is located in a peaceful and sunny place, on the hill over-looking the small village of Le Caylar, in which you can nevertheless find a supermarket, a bakery, a post office and some other stores. You' ll have to walk up to the house for about 50 meters but once you get there you can enjoy a beautiful view from the terrace. Behind the house, a small garden invites you to rest on a lounge-chair or to cook on the barbecue. The 'Causse du Larzac' is a wild and protected landscape where you can enjoy walking or admiring orchids. La Couvertoirade, knights templar city, is a good day-walk goal. The Viaduc de Millau, the caves of Roquefort cheese, famous musée of Lodève painting exhibitions, Gorges du Tarn... You can drive to the lake of Salagou in about twenty minutes and to the beach (Cap d'Agde)in one hour. Montpellier, its famous Musée Fabre , its old streets and its international music and dance festivals is at 1 hour by A 75. LebarLing center( buddhist) at15 km.

Climate and chimney

Le Caylar is at a height of 780 meters. The weather is extremely pleasant in the summer but rather cold in the winter. Nevertheless, keep in mind that we are in the south of France and if you drive about 15 minutes to get down to the plain, the temperatures can rise about ten degrees. Electricity is not included from october to the end of may. We can provide you some wood for the chimney. We ask 10 euros a week for a wood supply to light an evening chimney fire.
