Charming newly renovated house near the top of the village of Jimena de la Frontera, with superb views of the countryside and the castle, and round the clock sunshine. There is a shady garden room overlooking a mixed orchard, a bedroom balcony and a huge terrace on the top floor. A wood burning stove and electric radiators keep the house cosy in winter. Self catering accommodation is available throughout the year.

Jimena is set in lovely rolling countryside, with a castle at the top and a river round the bottom. In early summer there are many bathing pools, but for the less adventurous, the village has two public swimming pools, one at the campsite and one beside LA CUENCA restaurant. It is an ideal centre for walking and bird-watching. Griffon Vultures can almost always be seen, several types of eagle, and by the river, Kingfishers, bee-eaters and nightingales. You can walk in any direction from the village, encoutering very different sorts of scenery. The coast, Gibraltar, beaches, supermarkets are just half an hour away by car.

We had a perfect week here, there is almost as much space outside as in the house, with stairs going down from the bedroom terrace to a tiny garden with a shady garden room looking into an orchard.
We will come back in winter too when the living room will be cozy thanks to the wood burning stove and the thick curtain across the archway.
Any questions are speedily dealt with by the friendly Spanish couple next door who look after house and garden and orchard.Thoroughly recommended.
