Our villa, Casa da Roda, is situated near Arganil in the Beiras region of Central Portugal. The villa overlooks a lake with spectacular views of the mountains and is surrounded by a conservation area. This is a perfect holiday for singles, couples, families or groups and is an ideal setting for workshops and retreats. Why not try painting, bird watching, walking, fishing and more. Taste the wines and cuisine of Portugal and enjoy nearby facilities which include horse riding, canoeing, etc. You will be spoilt for choice with the selection of destinations to enjoy on your trips out which can include the University City of Coimbra (for shoppers and lovers of architecture), the broad white sandy beaches of the western coast and, to the east, the highest mountains in Portugal at Serra da Estrela. If you prefer to relax at home, you can take in the views from the shaded verandahs and sunny patio with salt water swimming pool

The Beiras is an area of contrasts, both ancient and modern with villages perched on mountain outcrops and endlessly appealing views of terraced olive groves and cool forest streams. The villa is situated 7km from the town of Arganil and is a 2 hour drive from Porto and 3 hours from Lisbon. The nearest café and shop is less than 2 miles away in Sarnadela; there is a Post Office less than 2 miles away in Pombeiro da Beira. The nearest supermarkets are in Arganil which is about 15 minutes drive from the villa – Intermarche and Lidl are the main supermarkets but there are also many cafes, restaurants and small shops including take away pizza, etc. You will be spoilt for choice with the selection of destinations to enjoy on your trips out which can include the University City of Coimbra (for shoppers and lovers of architecture), the broad white sandy beaches of the western coast and, to the east, the highest mountains in Portugal at Serra da Estrela.
