Lovely 18c cottage for 2 with private pool overlooking lakes
Pretty self contained summer cottage, self catering for two people. Adjacent to an ancient Maison viticole, high on a hillside with breathtaking, panoramic views across the plain of the Dordogne river, several lakes, vineyards and fields of sunflowers . One bedroom with king-sized bed, a comfortable living and dining area with a fully equipped kitchen and a large shower room. The rooms are light and airy with as many original features, exposed beams and tiled floors, as could be saved. There are fans for the hot weather and heaters for the cooler months. This is an idyllic location for two people to rest and relax, close to all amenities but quiet and calm. The pool and its garden are totally private and access is unrestricted.

Situated in historic Aquitaine at the heart of the largest wine producing area of South-West France, almost centrally between Bordeaux and Bergerac and minutes from the banks of the Dordogne river at Castillon la Bataille. Picturesque St Emilion and Pomerol are 15 minutes away, with a visit to Margaux or Pauillac an easy day's outing. For the equally famous sweet wines visit Sauternes or the magnificent Chateau at Monbazillac. For the more energetic, the countryside around us is perfect for walking and cycling, pretty and not too hilly. There is canoeing on the Dordogne, tennis and horse riding in the local town many good uncrowded golf courses. We overlook a large lake, which has recently been developed into a leisure centre with a clean manmade beach, bar and restaurant.
