Spacious, light and airy! Lovingly restored delightful 2 double bedroom apartment. Traditional accommodation with original terracotta flooring and beamed ceilings. The private entrance leads up a travertine staircase into the black and white tiled corridor leading to; living room with wood burning stove, separate well equipped kitchen/dining room with gas and electric cooker, fridge/freezer with large window and views of typical Tuscan architecture; ample double bedroom with handbasin, adjacent bathroom with extra large shower, handbasin and W.C. Recently converted attic approached by wide terracotta staircase providing second full ensuite double bedroom, extra storage space and washing machine. Sarteano is a beautiful medieval hilltop town with Etruscan origins and a magnificent thermal swimming pool. A variety of shops, excellent restaurants, magical Castle and Etruscan museum combined with the beauty of the surrounding countryside makes for an unforgettable experience.

Sarteano is ideally placed being 6 kms. from the A1 Autostrada exit at Chiusi, 12 kms. from the mainline railway Chiusi making both Rome and Florence about 1 hour away by fast train. Approximate time by car to other major cities; Siena 1 hour, Florence 11/2 hours, Rome 2 hours. It is also surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside, in particular the Val d'Orcia, now a world heritage site and only ten minutes drive from the apartment. Dominating either side of the valley are some of the most renowned medieval towns such as Montalcino, Pienza, San Quirico d'Orcia, Montepulciano and Radicofani all withing a 45 minute drive. In August Sarteano has its own version of the famous Palio in Siena. This is the highlight of a season of related festivities including a medieval pageant with authentic food, music festivals and other local events, not to mention the weekly market.

Rental Rates for this holiday apartment in Sarteano, Italy

  • A non- returnable deposit of 30% is payable at the time of booking; the balance is required no later than 9 weeks before departure. We are not able to send reminders to all our clients so, in order not to risk losing your deposit and holiday, please be sure to send the balance in time. If booking within 9 weeks of your departure please send the full amount with your booking. Receipts, directions to the property and any other information will be sent immediately upon receipt of the balance.
    The minimum rental period is one week and renting starts and finishes on a Saturday unless otherwise specified. Guests are asked to arrive between 5pm. and 8pm. and to leave before 10am. in order to allow the property to be prepared for the next guests. All cancellations by you or any member of your party must be made in writing. Cancellation applies from the date of receipt of cancellation notification & we cannot be responsible if a letter is received within the cancellation period with no proof.

    More than 9 weeks before departure -loss of deposit

  • If you require extra cleaning or would like a cook for some period of your stay, please advise us in plenty of time so that we can make arrangements. Payment will be made directly to the person concerned.
    Properties will be assigned clean and in good order. We would ask you to leave the property as you have found it. We try to see that there are basic supplies when you arrive, we would be very grateful if you would replace any used so the next guests are not left without, thank you.

  • Bathroom 1 has an extra large shower approx. 1.40 x .70m. Bathroom 2 was created in 2005 with the bedroom and is ensuite on the top floor of the property.

  • Bedroom 1 has a terracotta floor and high beamed ceiling with a window overlooking the narrow Corso leading to San Lorenzo Square. There is a handbasin, a Tuscan style wardrobe and chest of drawers. Bedroom 2, imaginatively converted from the attic space includes a skylight in the beamed ceiling as well as a window overlooking the rear. The modern bathroom has top quality Italian fittings, including handbasin, small bath with shower attachment and WC. There is an additional storage area with a washing machine.

Notes: Not suitable for children but they are welcome on negotiation. There are two entrances to the apartment, from the front entrance on Corso Garibaldi the apartment is on the third floor but there is also access at the rear on the first floor from Via dei Goti. The washing machine is not in the kitchen but in a separate area next to bedroom 2.
