Local attractions:
A mere 5 min walk from the nearest beach. Estepona has a wonderful quiet cove of Playa de Cristo which is ideal for Children because of its shallow safe waters and a long sandy beach called La Rada which boasts a Blue Flag. The beaches are clean and very well cared for & most have bars on them. In total there is 23km of sand. Estepona is a popular holiday location as it is situated within a fifty minute drive from Malaga airport and 30 mins from Gibraltar couple this with the number of airlines operating on these routes makes it even more accessible. Both airports are served by the N340 & Motorway again cutting travel time. Car hire is recommended and can be booked in advance. Estepona is a 15 min drive from its Glitzy neigbours Marbella and Puerto Banus both known for designer shopping, bars, restaurants, lively nightlife and very impressive Yachts!

There is plenty to do in Estepona. The town boasts many traditional tapas bars and excellent restaurants specialising in seafood along with a wide variety of others to appeal to all. Take a wander down the cobbled streets through the old part of the town at the centre of which you will find a quiet resting place known as Plaza del Reloj with its' 15th century clock tower (enquire about the organised tours every Thursday). Along the seafront runs a very pretty promenade lined with palm trees and some Chiriguitos(beach bars).Of course all the usual beach and water activities are available such as jet-skiing, para sailing, diving and pedalos. For the early risers the fish market at the harbour is interesting with a variety of local fish auctioned (starts at 6am!). The bullring on the outskirts of the town has 4 museums one of which has an interesting collection of bullfighting memorabilia.

You are spoiled for variety when it comes to day trips. Ronda, famous for its incredible gorge provides a fabulous day out. The little known town of Casares is a typical white wash Andalusian town set on a hillside. The village of Manilva has some Roman baths which are worth a visit. For the kids the Selwo Aventura Safari park with its tigers, elephants, lions, camel rides & archery is definitely worth a visit. If after all that you need a little time to unwind indulge yourself with one of the many beauty/relaxation treatments on offer at the Albayat spa located in the Costa Galera Country Club. Membership costs 35 euros per day or 85 euro per week. This allows unlimited use of the facilities of which there are so many. Well worth it!
Golf:
There is access to the onsite three hole practise golf course where you can practise your swing, perfect your putting or take some lessons. The specialist golf shop in the country club stocks everything you need. For the more experienced golfer welcome to the Costa del Golf! The mild dry winters makes it ideal for golf throughout the year. The Estepona and Duquesa golf clubs are but a 5 min drive, as for the rest take your pick of over 60 in total. Valderrama which hosted the Ryder cup in 1997 and regarded by many as the number 1 golf course in mainland Europe is only 15 mins away. Others which are easily accessible include Los Flamingos, El Paraiso and Sontogrande. Most will need to see your handicap certificate.
