Lovely top floor apartment superbly located at Monte Dourado resort right in the centre of Carvoeiro a very short walk from the beach/town centre. The apartment is spacious with master bedroom suite, 2nd bedroom, 2nd bathroom/shower, modern kitchen with dishwasher, m/wave, w/machine, spacious lounge with 32'' flatscreen TV, satellite, media box with 100s movies, DVD, ipod dock/radio, dining set, 3 piece suite, lounge leads out on to a lovely sunny terrace with table & chairs and lovely views over Carvoeiro to the sea beyond. The apartment lies in a nice secluded spot which is quiet & peaceful at night and outside there are well maintained gardens, adjacent is a lovely pool area (with kids pool), tennis courts and reception are 50 metres away. There is a safe, alarm, telephone. This apartment is fully serviced, which means it will be spotless clean, the maid will call daily, staff at reception will be on hand to help you with anything, so you can relax & enjoy your holiday !

For those that know Carvoeiro it is a hidden gem on the Algarve and remains as yet undiscovered and has not been spoiled by large over development, the village is in a lovely setting centred around the square right by Carvoeiro beach which is nestled in a lovely cove where there are many very good cafes & restaurants. Monte Dourado resort enjoys a privileged hill-top position above Carvoeiro beach and within a short walk of the beach and the centre of the village, there are tennis courts on site and a nice 9 hole par 3 golf course (Vale de Milho) just up the road or a more challenging 18 holes each at Pinta & Gramacho 10 minutes away, Carvoeiro is set on a really beautiful stretch of coast with cliff tops mingled with super sandy cove beaches. Slide & Spash water park is 5 minutes away in Lagoa and Zoomarine theme park is within 20 mins. In summer especially it is impossible to park in the town this is why we think the location of this apartment is fabulous, no need for a taxi.

  • INCLUDED: Daily maid service (Summer) & towels changed twice weekly and beach towels are provided, reception service, open daily they can arrange car hire, airport transfers & groceries, and have useful information on local tourist attractions. Reception is also on hand in the unlikely event there is a problem with your apartment and maintenance staff are based on site. There is also the convenience of a telephone link to reception in the apartment, available also for outside calls at additional cost.
    Tennis courts are €5 per hour, racquets/balls are in the apartment, there are plenty of nice new sunbeds around the pool which are provided free.

  • WINTER RATES: Carvoeiro village is lively right though the winter and is popular with people wanting to winter there in a nice climate. Fab Apartment just as described

This apartment is ideal for those looking for a location far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town but near enough to walk (5 mins and you're on the main street).

The apartment itself is perfect. Tastefully decorated, comfortable sofa & chairs (not like the usual uncomfortable sofas you tend to get), satellite TV for those that want to keep in touch with the British soaps, an iPOD docking station so that you can listen to your own music and a dishwasher which is an added bonus for those wanting to dine in the apartment. The lovely thing as well about this apartment is having the beach towels provided (8 in total).......... definitely a space and weight saver in your luggage. Having the washing machine was even better because you could have a clean beach towel every day if you wanted. Both bedrooms in the apartment are spacious with loads of storage space for those extra outfits you've brought instead of the beach towels. The master bedroom has a king sized bed for that extra comfort.

The balcony is really spacious and overlooks the gardens and path to the pool which is just to the left of the apartment so although you can't fully see it from the apartment you can get to it in half a minute. From the balcony you can also see the sea in the distance and catch the lovely sunsets on the horizon.

We were a party of 4 adults and never felt on top of each other because the apartment is so roomy and spacious.

The only downside I can think of is that there is no air conditioning (although fans can be hired) so those going in high season may get a little hot on those humid nights. We went mid September and it was fine.

Carvoeiro itself is a lovely little resort with a gorgeous little sandy cove off the main square. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tases and a number of little shops and boutiques to browse.

If we return to Carvoeiro again, we would certainly try to book this apartment again.

Portugal Perfection

We stayed in this apartment 5th May to 15th May 2009 and cannot fault anything at all. The apartment has everything you could need to enjoy a lovely relaxing holiday which includes a 32inch tv, hundreds of movies at the touch of a button, kitchen is home from home including dishwasher, fridge/freezer microwave everything. Maid service was Monday to Friday and was left spotless each day. There are distant sea views from the balcony area and the balcony area is large and very private and not overlooked by anybody. The weather was great for 10 days and the staff at monte dourado complex were extremely friendly and helpfull. It is only a 2 minute walk down a hill to the resort centre, it was everything we could have wished for. It truely was our Portugal Perfection. There is a supermarket only 2 mins from the apartment which caters for everything you could require including hot fresh bread rolls daily and all your usual groceries you would require back home. We hired a car from the reception which cost us 160 euros for 7 days which enabled us to visit different resorts etc. Would recommend Zoomarine as a good trip especially if you have children but would not recommend visiting Krazyworld. Carvoeiro is definately still the resort to go if you are looking for a laid back, chill out, de-stressing holiday and the apartment was also the perfect partner to the resort. Overall a fantastic time had by us both and will be looking to return in the future. Neil & Nichola, Bury, Lancs.

Our holiday in Carvoeiro

The apartment was very spacious and was very handy having the two bathrooms. The position of the apartment was excellent, near the pool and very quiet. The pools were lovely and especially the little pool for our two year old! The maids came in every day to do a basic clean and empty the rubbish and the towels were changed at least 3 times during the week. The reception was very useful and helpful for any queries etc and for ordering our grocery pack for arrival.

The situation of the apartment complex itself was very good and close to all amenities and the beach, the hills weren't too bad!

The only things I was disappointed with was the fact that there wasn't a microwave in the kitchen and the television could do with being udated and some DVD's provided and a few books etc for children. Also there needs to be some fans in the bedrooms, or even better air conditioning although we were able to hire fans from reception at 1 euro per day.

All in all we had an excellent time and didn't want to come home!
Owner's Response: This is the first year we have owned the apartment so we will try to build a collection of books & dvds etc, we also think the location is great, nice and quiet with a lovely pool area yet so close to the town & beach.
