'The Moorings' comprises 10 villas on the south of Phuket Island, facing west. Some of the villas are kept for use only by their owners ~ so a high degree of privacy is assured. After strolling down the almost deserted beach, your decision is whether to have your sundowner in the pool or watching the sunset from your balcony. Though The Moorings is only 15 minutes by car from Phuket town and about 20 from Kata, Karon and other famous beaches, it is located in a quiet corner of the island, accessed by a modern road with majestic views. If you want to be in a high-rise in the heart of the action, with motorbikes tearing around all night, this is not for you. If you want one of the Best destination spots in SE Asia, this is it! BEST VIEWS IN PHUKET!!!

Ao Chalong is in the south part of the island near to Cape Phanwa, and we face West for beautiful sunsets. To get to Kata/Karoen takes about 20 minutes drive. The town of Phuket is just 15 minutes away. There is a resort hotel near by, and a small convenience stores not for away. Most people shop at Lotus-Tesco supermarket or Big C just outside Phuket town. There is very little traffic past The Moorings so it is very peaceful. The villa is great for beach-side relaxation and watersports. There are several authentic restaurants along the beach. A short journey by car will take you to many more. Some of the nearby activities include: swimming; diving; sailing; golf; para-gliding, water ski (at main beaches); elephant trekking.

back from Paradise Moorings

It makes now two weeks that we are back from Paradise Moorings, but I just wanted to let you know how wonderful our holiday was. The house was even more beautiful than on the pictures of the webpage, very clean, conveniently furnished and equiped. Khun Pond was very helpful for organizing the baby cot rapidly, giving us a hint to go the giraffe beach 2 minutes by car where bathing with the children, hanging out and having lunch just next to the Sea really gave us a feeling of being in paradise. Everything was just perfect, from excellent restaurants in Chalong, the Natural in Phuket etc. We even took a fisherboat to Coral Island but decided happily that the giraffe beach is more quiet and peaceful.



How great it is to be far away from all the key tourist areas like Kata, Karon or Patong! Although the Zoo of Phuket is the one address to avoid – really a shame in terms of cleaness, animal keeping, we enjoyed the Aquarium and elephant riding, but honestly our days were best filled with beach, pool, restaurant, thai massage through a good address of Khun Pond at your house and just doing virtually nothing. The most relaxing holiday in the past years and we can well imagine to be another year your guests to live that unique experience again.

This is a lovely house situated in a wonderful position right on the coast with breathtaking views of the sea from its balconies. The house has its living area on the upper floor and bedrooms on the lower floor. The Moorings is a fabulous small complex which shares the use of a large well maintained swimming pool surrounded by coconut palms, bougeanvillea and frangipani trees. We loved being able to walk from the house directly to the beach.

The holiday we had here was very much sea oriented. We ate and drank at e cafes on the beach (one of which has bar stools in the sea!) and explored the coast by water whichever way we could. We hired kayaks from the café and a motorboat from a local who took us out for the day to nearby islands where we could snorkel in fabulous clear water. We were also closer to Phuket city (overlooked by tourists) which we found fascinating and ate at some superb French /Thai fusion restaurants. The Moorings has a great deal to offer any sea lover and is very peaceful!

Our combined stay here and at the other villa (www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/p405658) made for a truly fantastic holiday and we would love to return!

Tranquil yet accessible

Phuket is becoming very over-developed so it was lovely to stay somewhere away from the touts and tourists. You need a car to get to the supermarket and if you want to visit beaches where you can jet ski etc but it's nice to be able to leave that behind at the end of the day and head back to peace. My children loved the pool with it's springboard and the beach in front has lovely soft sand. It's not easy to swim in the sea at low tide but, other than that, the sea was clear and right on the doorstep. The pool is big enough to do laps in and you often have it to yourself. Our kids were old enough to head down to the pool themselves. There's no lifeguard so it may not work so well for kids under 10 unless they are constantly supervised. The gardens are lovely and the view from the villa is gorgeous. The villa is in a predominantly residential area but there are still restaurants in walking distance on the beach as at Bangtao, Surin and Kata etc. If you want to be right on a beach where people are selling cheap goods, this is not for you. But there is a guy who'll come to the villa and give you a great Thai massage and another guy who keeps a long boat 50 yds up the beach.
