It has the most beautiful landscapes in the Island of Gozo. The area is one of Gozo's best for country walks and cycling and could connect to the village of San Lawrence or directly to Dwejra Bay. Our village boasts of having some of the best bakeries on the island. Nearby, in Victoria, are numerous restaurants and cafes, markets, and plenty of shops to choose from. Numerous supermarkets, excellent wine and spirit shops, ground coffee shop with many spices and herbs, a butcher, and many other shops in and around our little village. For those who prefer an easy life, vegetables, bread, fish, soft drinks and many other mobile shop-sellers, actually drive through the village streets selling their products right outside our door.
OUR ISLAND:
The beautiful island of Gozo has a coastline of 43 km, 14 kms long & 7 kms wide. An area of 67 square kms. The Maltese call Gozo Ghawdex & is pronounced, Awdesh. This is a derivation of other older names such as Gaulos. Gozo is popularly called The Island of Calypso, that is a nickname originating from the Greek mythological location of Ogygia referred to in Homer's Odyssey. In this epic poem, the fabled island was controlled by the nymph Calypso, who had detained the Greek hero Odysseus for seven long years as prisoner of love. Romantics love this island not just for its beauty & hospitality of its people, but also because of its remoteness and tranquility. One can go to various places and find oneself totally mystified by the seclusion and quietness. Being a small island, it is not difficult to explore the whole island in just a few days. It is one of those very few places on earth where existence itself is pure indulgence and enjoyment! May you have a wonderful holiday in Gozo!
