The villa is situated in a very picturesque village which nests between the wine growing region of Bordeaux and the vines of Cognac, France. This area of the south west of France enjoys a micro climate of its own which gives it the same amount of sunshine per year as Nice. The villas are also only 10 mins from the Auto route A10 making it very accessible and easy to find. For those preferring to Fly and hire a car, it is just 50 mins from Bordeaux airport which is serviced by bmi baby from Manchester and Birmingham. British Airways also fly to Bordeaux from Gatwick, whilst La Rochelle is just 75 mins away from the villas being serviced by Ryanair from Stanstead and Dublin.

Area

La Rochelle This is a wonderful old port, and is the second most popular town to Paris, with its 3 outstanding medieval towers. The very attractive port has a pedestrian waterfront and free municipal bike hire. Plenty to do and see at the harbour and marina, the shops and aquarium and oceanographic museum. This is the place for fish restaurants. The ancient lighthouse of Corduan is definitely worth a visit. There are boat trips available to the islands and around the famous Fort Boyard . Royan A marina, a fishing port, the landing stage of the vat for the Verdon and the Medoc, the departure of high-speed motorboats, walks at sea, the famous Cordouan lighthouse trip.... Nautical leisure amateurs, yachtsmen and those just curious about the things of the sea will be delighted!. St Emilion St Emilion is just 1 hour away and is the most perfect medieval town, cobbled streets, and the centre of excellence for the famous St Emilion vinyards / wines.
