The town: Pozzallo:
Villa Asia is 500mt. far from the town of Pozzallo.
Pozzallo belongs to the sicilian province whose capital is Ragusa, in the SouthEastern Sicily.
Pozzallo is the only town in province to lean out on the sea in the heart of Mediterranean Sea, it is called 'Terrace over Mediterranean Sea'.
Pozzallo has a typical Mediterranean climate: little rainy and mild winters, with temperatures rarely falling below the average of 10 degrees. Summers are hot but not torrid because mitigated by sea breeze.
Pozzallo has many gold sand beaches with a cristalline and
calm sea. There are many many cafes, restaurants, pubs, both in the city and on the beaches.
Since several years, a strong policy of revaluation of tourism has led Pozzallo to the national top for sea and beach quality, services, facilities and accommodation, These efforts were also acknowledged with the 'Blue Flag', a prestigious european award by FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education), obtained in 2008 for the seventh consecutive year.
Symbol of the town is the Cabrera tower, built in the XV sec. D.C. to defend the town against pirate attacks.
Destroyed by an earthquake in 1693, it was reconstructed and today it is 'National Monument.' Restored in the '90s, today it is visitable.
Pozzallo has an active harbour. Daily, there are passenger links (with or without car) to the nearby Malta island, reachable in just 90 minutes.
