High quality self catering apartment available for rent in traditional mountain resort of Chinaillon. Finished in 2006, it offers the charm of a traditional chalet along with well equipped modern facilities. It has a large west facing balcony offering superb views of the valley. The owners have taken great care to furnish it to the highest standard. It offers 2 bedrooms and the a good quality and comfortable sofa bed. There is also the option to link it to the apartment on the same floor making it into a 5 bedroom. There is plenty of storage should you wish to use the sofa bed for guests. Located just an hour from Geneva, Les Refuges des Outalays has direct access to the slopes offering a superb location to the wide variety of pistes available, The ski schools are conveniently located at the bottom of 'our' slope! It is a short walk to the village where you there are a good selection of shops and restaurants.

Ski chalet is located in Le Chinaillon, 5 minutes drive from Le Grand Bornand and very close to La Clusaz. It is also conveniently located for trips to Chamonix (just under 1 hours drive) and other ski areas for the more adventurous. You can happily ski in Le Chinaillon / Le Grand Bornand all week with its wide slopes and lovely restaurants. Lake Annecy is just over a half an hours drive away.

  • Well equipped bathroom with good quality fittings. The shower is great and there is plenty of hot water available. Huge towel rail providing excellent drying facilities of gloves, hats and scarves!!!

  • Good proportioned rooms and flexible sleeping arrangements means that the apartment can sleep 6 adults - two bedrooms with a good quality sofa bed in the lounge. The main bedroom offers dual aspect with lovely views over the valley. Storage space is plentiful with a large build-in wardrobes and plenty of hanging space in the hall. There is also a large wardrobe in hall for guests of sofa bed. The two singles in the second bedroom can be connected to make a double. The main bedroom also has room for a cot or a small child's bed. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished with good quality bedding provided. Good quality towels are provided. Both rooms have shutters.

Skiing in Chinaillon

The appartment is in a great location for skiing... just across the road from the slopes. And it has a large balcony with lovely views across the valley.

As the profile says, it's a modern challet built in a traditional style. We managed to fit in 5 adults, with one sleeping in the lounge.

Chinaillon is a traditional village with a good selection of restaurants, although you need to drive to La Clusaz for nightlife.

Superb ski apartment - fantastic location!

My family and I visited over New Year 2008. We have two children aged 11 and 8. We absolutely LOVED the apartment! It was very modern, clean and everything seemed brand new. The location was stunning with beautiful views from the balcony. You only have to walk to the end of the road and you are on a green hill down to the chair lift! We are all beginner skiiers so this was fantastic for us. The chalet had very good heating and was very comfortable indeed. The children enjoyed being able to chill out with a DVD after a hard day's skiing! Le Chinaillon is 'unspoilt' and very very beautiful. Fantastic village shops and restaurants. It only takes 1 hr 30 mins from Geneva airport. We are saving to go back!

Summer Holiday 2007/2008

This was our 5th Summer in the French Alps and after such a great time at this property in 2007 we booked again for 2008. The apartment is as described, comfortable, modern and well equipped. It makes a great base for exploring the area, well located with stunning views across the valley just above the village of Chinaillon. There are plenty of activities in the area even when the weather is not at its best and we have never yet had a problem keeping the kids entertained. Lots of good, well marked, walking routes close by, some of which can be reached by cable car and chair lift. Many restaurants in the area but due to diet restrictions within the family we were unable to check them out. Overall, highly recommended, but I hope you don't book the two weeks in the summer that I want :-)

Had a great stay in March 2008.Apartment has everything you need and was very nicely decorated and kitted out. Fab views from balcony. Handy for the lift which is a walk across a road and you are on a run!

Great snow made the holiday perfect.
