Garden and outdoors:
Plenty of room to relax by the pool or go exploring. There is a large terrace in front of the house with table, chairs and b.b.q. for al fresco dining. A low stone wall with an arched gateway separates this from the rest of the garden, the lawn and the 10x5 swimming pool complete with a paved sitting out area, sun loungers, badminton and boules. Beyond the lawn is our own wood with a mill stream and stream passing through on their way to the village. There is also a green path linking the garden to the edge of our pretty local village of les mazieres.
The sourrounding area:
The nearby village of Najac is dominated by it's ancient ruined castle perched high up on a hill overlooking the Aveyron valley below. Fantastic views abound, fascinating countryside to explore by car, bicycle or on foot - there are several grand randonee walks and we keep several maps and details of local paths and walks.
Those seeking history and cultural pursuits will not be disappointed - follow the routes of the knights Templar, visit the wonderful cloisters in Villefranche or the highly decorative Chapelle de penitents noir or attend one of the many concerts held throughout the summer.
Shopping and dinning out:
Our nearest shops are about 4mins by car at Sanvensa (excellent croissants), la Fouillade is 8mins drive away and has local shops to meet most of your requirements, great french charm and a couple of bars to watch the world go by from. Villefranche is home to the larger supermarkets (15mins) and is the only source of fresh milk.
There are many restaurants within a 15minute drive of the house and a couple of Michelin starred restaurants a bit further away, some recommendations can be found in our house book.
