The L shaped living/dining room opens directly onto covered terrace of pool area and has large flat screen TV with UK satellite channels & DVD player. The kitchen with breakfast bar is equiped with dishwasher, microwave, oven with ceramic hob & large fridge freezer. Utility room with washing machine. The villa enjoys panoramic views of the Corbieres hills & is completely private. The terrace and pool area benefits from all day sunshine there is a covered terrace area running the length of the villa, with BBQ, dinning table & chairs with parasol, plus sunbeds. The large pool, 8metres by 4 has an environmentally friendly salt filter system. The landscaped garden is secluded and completely fenced and child friendly. All linen is provided and we also provide beach towels.

The villa is situated in Cathar country and area steeped in history (the Labarynth & Da Vinci Code) The castles of Queribus and Peyrepertus, and the ancient monastries of Lagrasse and Fontfroide are a short drive away. The walled town of Carcassonne with its jousting displays is a 30 minute drive. Narbonne has a wonderful indoor food market everyday and all the neighbouring villages have a weekly markets. During the summer months there is an endless choice of free entertainments and local fetes featuring live bands and dancing. As a wine growing area there are many opportunities to taste and buy the local wine. The choice of nearby sandy beaches is almost unlimited, and there are several waterparks. The African Safari Park at Sigean is amazing. For walking, cycling & riding you are almost lost for choice. Spain is only an hours drive away and the spectacular Pyrenees with their nature parks & ski areas an hour & a half away. The coastal lagoons are famous for their birds.

| Notes: | the tennis court is just 2 minutes from the house and is available for rent. The villa also has an integrated vacuum cleaner. The pool is serviced every week and an english couple is on hand to meet and greet you on arrival, and also to sort out any problems or question that you may have. There is a selection of games and books in the villa and plenty of information on local activities and sights. There is a small local supermarket and a bakery in the village and a children's playground and boule court. The nearby village of Durban some 7 kms has a bank with cash point, chemist, doctor and dentist, bar and restaurant. There are various good restaurants in the area listed in the info pack at the villa. There is a very lovely Michelin starred restaurant for that special occasion. Once up the two front steps the villa, pool terrace and gardens are all on one level and therefore suitable for young children and the elderly. |
