La Petite Maison is totally unique. Nestling in the village of Broze near Gaillac, it offers relaxation, peace and tranquility with simply stunning views over a long valley peppered with vineyards. The property has a superb terrace for alfresco dining and a unique pool carved from the rock on which a 12th century chateau once stood. The accommodation includes a main double bedroom together with a smaller twin room situated at the lower level adjacent to the pool. There is a large lawned area and the property benefits from an interesting location on multiple levels. If you are looking for long hot days and total peace and quiet, La Petite Maison is for you! The local area is steeped in history and there are a number of very historical villages within easy travelling distance, including Cordes, Albi, Toulouse and Carcassonne. The local wine is excellent and exceptional value. There are a whole host of superb local restaurants to choose from, the closest being just a few km away.

The local area is steeped in history, the region includes bastide villages such as Cordes, Puycelci, Bruniquel, Sainte Antonin and Penne. The Cathars famously governed hundreds of years ago and their influence is still very much in evidence today. Toulouse, the 'Rose City' is less than an hour away and Carcassonne is in easy reach. The scenery is dramatic and varied, from the Vere Valley, through the largest Oak forest in Europe and into the Tarn gorges, that slice a great cavern through the local rock. The region is also famous for its wine production and local gastronomic delicacies, such as Foie Gras and Confit du Canard. If you have a healthier appetite, try the Cassoulet! There are many things to see and do including walking, climbing, cycling, canoeing, swimming, gliding and skiing in the winter months in the Pyrenees. Alternatively, why not just relax by the pool with a bottle of Domain de Gayssou (produced right in front of the property!) and relax at La Petite Maison.

  • Prices quoted are for the rental of the whole property and per week. An optional linens package is available at £10/€15 per person which includes: bed sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases, a bath towel, a swimming towel, bath mats and hand towels.
    Lettings from Saturday (4pm) to Saturday (10am). During the winter months, electricity is charges as per the meter reading at standard EDF rates. Long winter lets and house hunting stays welcome, rates negotiated.
    Well behaved pets welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside the property, however guests can smoke in the garden or on any of the terraces. No deposit required.

We have designed La Petite Maison to bring out the romantic in you, with candelabras, candles and hanging night lights to create an intimate environment. The main bedroom upstairs in the cottage is delightfully cosy and peaceful, with a shower and WC. It has stunning views over the valley. We are currently updating the furniture in the property for the 2008 season to add even more luxurious touches, so important for you to enjoy complete seclusion and tranquility. Bedroom two is on the lower level of the property adjacent to the pool. It is a twin room with beds in an 'L' shape. This bedroom also has an en-suite shower room that is very handy for the pool too. We make sure that you are very well stocked with candles and matches, the rest is up to you! Our overall objective is to provide peace and tranquility with little touches of luxury.

Of particular mention at La Petite Maison are the pool and the terraces. The pool is totally unique in that it has been sunken into the rock on which a 12th century chateau once stood. The views from within the pool are just incredible across the valley. Perfect to relax with a glass of wine! The spacious terraces (there are two) again offer you just perfect views and an alfresco dining opportunity that is hard to beat. The upper terrace is accessed straight out of the cottage from patio doors, with a table, chairs and parasol and lanterns. The other terrace is down by the pool and ideal for sunbathing. We are able to offer you a Sony PlayStation 2 with an LCD screen and an assortment of games and films at no additional charge. We do not offer TV. For elderly visitors, please be advised this is a multi-level property with staircases.
