Claude is happy to share the history of his chateau. He has spent many years restoring a site that contains remnants of a Celtic oppidum and a medieval priory. He will even take you into the labyrinth of tunnels that run underground and contain the secrets of its past. This is not a typical hotel but if you want a holiday that is both relaxing and interesting, peaceful and stimulating, fascinating and different, then the stately rooms and stunningly beautiful setting of this chateau come highly recommended. A great part of the chateau is troglodyte. An archway leads to a fountain, beautiful shrubs, flowers and trees in a beautiful park of 3 ha, a pool with waterfall & barbecue. Reside in your themed choice such as King Arthur, Roméo, Juliet, Blue Beard, 1001 nights....they are rooms or apartments (with kitchen and living area). Breakfast/Dinner available on request, served in the 12th Century Chapel. The chateau makes a perfect location for weddings, family celebrations and seminars.

The individual rooms within the chateau are available to rent as well as the entire chateau. Choose from themed rooms such as the Self-catering Apartments named King Arthur with 2 bedrooms or Romeo which sleeps 2 but has a connecting door to Juliet (4 poster bed) to made a delightful 2 bed apartment should you need the extra beds. There are 5 Bed & Breakfast rooms available to let including Juliet as mentioned above as well as the south garden facing room called Ronsard both of which sleep 2. Also facing the south is 1001 nights which is perfect for families as it is comprised of 2 rooms and sleeps 4/5. Finally there are 2 north facing (on rock face & caves) rooms called Blue Beard and St Bernard. Many of the rooms have large double beds that can be separated to make 2 single beds so it is important to let the owner know if you need single beds.

The village of Ponce Loir has much to offer such as the nearby arts and crafts workshops, a medieval church which has beautiful frescos from XII century and another 16th century chateau with attractive gardens. The chateau provides an excellent and peaceful base for visiting other places such as the chateau of the Loire Valley, Tours, Angers, Orleans, Chartres and Le Mans. The Loir Valley is a charming historic region of the Plantagents with plenty to explore. Take in the natural beauty of the area with walks through forests and countryside and fun on the water with lakes and the Loir river for fishing. Local wines may be tasted at the many 'degustations'. There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area. Nearby can be found the Troglodyte village of Richard the Lionheart: Troo, Lavardin which is one of France's most beautiful village, Vendome; Amboise.

Most of the bedrooms have large (1.80m) double beds which can be separated to create 2 single beds, please let owner know your requirements. Arthur is a self-catering unit comprising of 1 bathroom, 1 bedroom with double/twin beds, 1 master bedroom which is separated from the main living area with a curtain so as you can watch the log fire from your bed. Romeo & Juliet are 2 separately rent-able rooms with optional interconnecting doors and both with their own shower room. The kitchen is in the Romeo part of the Unit. Juliet has a 4 poster bed. 1001 Nights does not have a kitchen but it does have 1 bathroom and a 2nd bedroom upstairs making it very suitable for families. And extra bed can be added for a 3rd child if required. The remaining rooms are all for 2 people and have private bathroom or shower room. For non self catering guests breakfast is included and served in the chapel. For self catering guests, breakfast can be provided at extra cost
