Les Houches holiday apartment "Apartment Chalet Whymper" in Les Houches, Chamonix Valley

We (family of four), spent a nice & quiet week at Chalet Whymper in June 2011. The apartment is just as described in the websites with the kitchen well equipped (includes a microwave which is not mentioned in the websites) & rooms with enough storage place for everything. All the reviews written here stand true. Views from the balconies, especially the bedroom balcony are fantastic. But the best part of the home is- Janet! . Right from the time we came across this home till our last day there, she was a great help, very friendly & quick with tips and recommendations and always in touch through mails.

Les Houches is a beautiful place. Do not miss the goodies at Boulangerie - Eric Jacquier. A trip all the way up to Aiguille du Midi is a must on a clear day! We enjoyed the best mountain view of our life there! Parc de Merlet is interesting for families with kids. Restaurants Le Basilic in Les Houches and Casa Valerio in Chamonix are well recommended. Cha Cha Cha at Avenue Ravanel le Rouge is the best place to buy some wines to take back home.

We plan to revisit Chamonix some time later as one week is too short a time for this beautiful place. One thing's fixed for that trip- this very apartment again!

My experience was excellent from the moment I booked the aparment. The owner was helpful with all the practical information and the customer service was nothing short of excellent.
The apartment is excactly as advertised if not better. Everything one could possibly need to be comfortable is provided. The internet connection was invaluble to me and it worked flawlessly.
All the hiking maps provided were excellent, and I carried one around with me the whole week for reference. The litlle blue book on Mont Blanc walks is the best one, I used it all week and never went wrong.
The location of the apartment is close to all the recreational facilities, shopping and transportation. I used the gondola right next door and the hiking trails on the top of the mountain were numerous, and very scenic. One can stroll on level ground, or hike into the mountains. I bought some goat cheese directly from the shepard on the mountain, and it was delicious.
I would recommend this apartment without any reservations and I would definetly stay here again.

Chalet Wymper was exactly as described and much more. The directions & instructions from the airport were really helpful. The facilities in the chalet are excellent, there is everything that you could possibly require. It is spotlessly clean and well maintained. Perfect holiday location Summer or Winter. It is close to ski lifts (only a few minutes walk) and shops.

Les Houches is a super place for a family to ski. We experienced great snow and very peaceful family friendly slopes. Good mountain restaurants on the slopes with beautiful views over the valley.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the chalet Wymper to a friend or family. In fact we booked again within days of returning home! This is all the recommendation required.
