Funchal holiday apartment: Funchal - Estr. Monumental, 400 - Forum Madeira

The description of the apartment was accurate & detailed, but it could not have adequately prepared us for the extremely pleasant surprise of a most charming host, his thoughtful provison of wine & fruit (and flowers), and an exceptional apartment. We thoroughly enjoyed our week of chilling out in Madeira's warm October climate and would certainly consider returning to see more of the island. The only slight problem was the traffic noise from the bus stop, as we live in a quiet cul de sac at home, but we soon got used to it.

We found public transport to be cheap and regular, and everyone we met was very friendly and polite.

As well as the Pingo Doce in the lower level of the adjacent shopping complex, we also used the Modelo supermarket, which can be found by crossing the main road, turning left & taking the 1st turn on the right, and turning right when you reach the promenade.

We recommend the Real Canoa restaurant - the espada was especially good - and the "vibe" is relaxed and friendly.

All in all, we had a great week, and would not hesitate to recommend this apartment as an excellent choice.

Our host was very helpfull and friendly, with fresh flowers, fruit and a bottle of wine on arrival. The apartment was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated.
Local amenitys were directly below which made it fantastic for shopping, with almost everything you require from food to a multiplex cinema.
The location is a 15-20 minute walk from the centre of Funchal or you can catch a bus or taxi, both have stops directly outside.
We had a wonderfull time sightseeing and enjoying the friendly atmosphere of Madiera.
I would highly recommend this apartment and cant wait to return.

The description of our apartment was spot on, it was tastefully furnished and very well equiped. The balcony afforded superb sea views and being on the 5th floor meant that we wernt disturbed by traffic noise. Having an underground parking space was a big bonus. The property was well maintained and spotlessly clean. Everything was provided for us, even beach towels. The owner was there to greet us on our arrival at the apartment. He was a very gracious host who took time to chat to us about Madeira and to explain how things worked in the apartment and the underground garage.He had even gone to the trouble to provide fresh flowers, fruit and wine all of which were much appreciated! There is so much to do in Madeira, the stunning scenery, wonderful flora, the levada walks, and delicious cakes being our favourites, we would happily recommend this property to anyone, in fact we have already passed on details to 3 groups of friends.
