This pretty Chalet in its own grounds has unrivalled 180 degree views over the Giffre Valley. Nestled partway up the mountain above the resort of Morillon which is in the heart of the Grand Massif Ski area. Built in 2002 the Chalet is a very spacious 300m2, newly furnished this season to the highest standard. The 6 king size double or twin bedrooms are luxuriously equipped 2 have en suite bathrooms and a further 2 bathrooms .The large kitchen is fully equipped with fitted oven, hob, microwave American style Fridge Freezer and cappuccino/espresso maker. The open plan ground floor areas centres on a log fire with large comfortable leather sofas, satellite T.V., DVD player and sound system available for all your entertainment needs. For the more traditional, a large selection of family games, books and magazines for your enjoyment. 3 sets of patio doors lead from the ground floor to the terrace so the views can be enjoyed whatever the weather and where ever you are in the chalet.

Chalet Setanta is a detached chalet nestled above the village of Morillon enjoying unrivalled views across the Giffre Valley. The chalet is a very spacious 6 bedroom, 4 bathroomed property. The bedrooms can be either superking beds or single beds, with cozy duvets you will not get a better nights sleep! The bathrooms are all recently decorated with italian style power showers and gilchrist and soames toiletries - very important after a hard day on the slopes. The lounge area centres on a large log burner, with large leather sofas and flat screen Tv and dvd player. There is a sound system and lots of traditional games, books and magazines. We also have a sepaerate area in the lowerground floor with sofa and playstation 2 for the big kids in the family. The kithchen is fully fitted with dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and a large American fridge freezer. The chalet also boasts a drying area for all you wet ski gear. 3 sets of patio doors lead to a balcony -just enjoy the views!

Morillon is a traditional French alpine village nestled in the mountains of the Giffre Valley. There are several excellent restaurants serving Savoyard cuisine Which are delicious. Morillon also has a bakers, butchers, supermarket, tourist office, pharmacy and sports equipment hire shops. You can access the ski areas by bubble lift from Morillon offering 265 kms of varying pistes, all the resorts in the area are linked so you can access them all from 1 lift Samoens is 2 KMs away and is an asterix style old medieval town with lots of interesting shops and Restaurants,. The Giffre valley is beautiful in winter covered in snow and the old Savoyard farmhouses are decorated with twinkling lights for Christmas. In Summer the pink and red flowers spill from window boxes filling the valley with colour. The valley is carpeted in green and the mountains look spectacular against the blue alpine sky. The blue lake offers safe swimming, flat cycle tracks along the river and lots of activities.

Notes: The chalet is newly equipped to a very high standard. A second flat screen tv is located in the lower ground floor with a play station 2 and a small selection of games so the children can play a game or watch a DVD in peace!! We offer the chalet on a self catered basis. Welcome packs can be provided on your arrival. The chalet is very safe outside to play with lots of grass and no passing cars.

Skiing Information: Morillion is part of the Grand Massif ski area which offers 265kms of varied piste ranging from gentle beginners open slopes to challenging steep runs between the pine trees offering spectacular 360 degree views over the alps bordering 3 countries. Mont Blanc towers majestically above the Slopes. The Grand massif area includes the resorts of Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillion, Samoens and Siixt. The whole area is well served with 75 ski lifts, The telecabine at Flaine takes you to 2480 metres. Overnight piste bashing and plenty of snow canons to keep the slopes perfect for skiing well into April. Ski Passes for the whole area can be bought on line before you arrive or in Morillion where you can also hire your skis and ski equipment - all this within 20 metres of the bubble lift. There are several bars and restaurants on the mountain and a bar/restaurant with pizzeria at the bottom of the lifts to satisfy your hunger if you can't wait to get back to our chalet.

I had the ultimate pleasure of spending yet another holiday at Setanta chalets at the beginning of September and yet again I came back refreshed, relaxed and ready for another few months of work. Nestled in the hillside just above Morillion, Setanta chalet really is a haven… the cosy fire, the comfy beds, the powerful showers, the huge kitchen table all make the chalet so welcoming and so homely from the minute you arrive. The chalet has everything you could need and on more than one occasion I had to tear myself away from the stack of appealing books adorning the book shelf, it would be far too easy to spend a week snuggled up on the cosy couches reading… the area has too much to offer to let that happen. Last winter I spent a week skiing everyday just a few minutes from the chalet and there was nothing like coming back to a warm shower and that blazing log fire. In the summer we spent a long weekend swimming in the lake nearby, cycling the terrain close by and doing some not too demanding hiking. This time we opted for a much more calm break, plenty of reading, plenty of eating, plenty of walking, plenty of wine drinking. The chalet is the perfect base for a holiday in the french alps and I just cant wait until my next holidays so I can get back up there for some skiing.

Stayed at this fabulous Chalet during the Summer Season,with our extended family, everything was as the owners described. The Chalet is well laid out,very comfortable, clean, child friendly, a home away from home, with spectaular views.
There is plenty of activities in the area, including cycling, walking and swimming at the lake to suit all levels of fitness. For the adventure seekers, there is an assault course by the lake. ( not for the faint hearted Granny's!!!!!)
Plenty of good restaurants in the area to suit all budgets.
Would recommend this to Chalet to any of my friends.

December was our second visit to this chalet in 2008,Why, we loved it so much the first time! The work done by the owner during the summer has enhanced the interior to a quality standard with accommodation to suit our needs, our party of 11 was well accomodated in this spacious chalet.
The main ski lifts at Morrillon and Samoens are in easy reach 5-10 mins drive.We found everything as described and the chalet was spotless on both our visits, contact and dealings with the owners was always friendly and accomodating.Two points to mention, the beds and linen are far too comfortable, we did not want to get up! and the fire place was far to cosy, did not want to go to bed! Highly recommended.

just back from a fantastic holiday. Had to write a review. the house is super. we had 10 in our party and all the bedrooms are great. lovely log fire to come home to after a hard days skiing. seperate area for the kids down stairs with a play station if you want a break from them. amazing views from all rooms. a real getaway location.
