As featured in House Beautiful, this family house is available to rent only over Christmas, New Year. In the heart of the village of Burpham, near Arundel, with stunning views across the downs, The Old Post House provides you with a holiday home from home. A large fully equipped play room with Sky TV and ping pong table makes it a perfect house for children, with a separate sitting room for adults with log fire and TV/DVD/SKY+. 3 double bedrooms, 1 twin and 1 single means that it will sleep 9 to 10 very comfortably. There is also a pull out bed if necessary. There is a conservatory kitchen with large dining table, an Aga, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer. The garden has furniture to enable eating outside, looking over fields. It also has plenty of games for children. Mountain bikes are available for use, and there are splendid walks from the village itself. Close to Arundel with shops, Castle, Cathedral. Also close to the sea, south downs way and Goodwood.

Burpham is a village in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the South Downs, at the end of the road. There is a hotel and very popular pub in the village, as well as a large playing field and children's playground. The views over Arundel castle and cathedral are spectacular, and walks are highly recommended. Arundel (3 miles) is a very popular town with a great deal of history. There are many antique shops and a river running through. A RSPB and Wetlands Trust attract birdwatchers. The town is also 4 miles from the sea. and 1 hour 20mins from London by train. The larger towns of Chichester, Worthing or Brighton are all within 15-35 minutes on a fast road, or by train.

Village Life: Burpham is a beautiful village in West Sussex. There is a local hotel (Burpham Country House Hotel) with a restaurant as well as an excellent pub (George and Dragon) with recommended food. A playground in the village looks down over the river Arun to the town of Arundel with it's imposing Castle and Cathedral. If you like peace and quiet and looking at the stars at night, Burpham is the village to visit. We are at the end of the paved roads, - there's only the South Downs Way above us, so few cars pass. It's very quiet and there's no light pollution, so every night you can hear the owl hooting at the bottom of the garden while you watch the night sky.

Shopping: Arundel has wonderful shops, especially for antiques and collectibles. Plenty of restaurants and cafes as well as a riverside restaurant with boats that you can hire on the river. It is close to Goodwood, Chichester, Worthing, and 30 mins from Brighton. It is a well-known area for walks around on the Downs, along the river, or through the woods of the Arundel estate.
