The typically Provencal villages of the Luberon are all between 3 and 15 minutes away. About an hour's drive away are St Remy de Provence, Aix en Provence and Orange whilst the beaches at Cassis and Marseille are 1 hour 20 minutes. Walking is superb in the region and cycling is a great way to view the beautiful countryside. There are many stunning villages close by, each one with it's own charm and atmosphere.

Highly recommended!

The apartment is just as described – charming, comfortable, in a pretty stone hamlet with wonderful views, and perfectly located for exploring the Luberon. In fact, we fell in love with the place, and can honestly say that the pictures and description don’t do it justice. It’s a lovely apartment, decorated with provencal style and taste, with many extra comforts: good quality linens and bath towels, a large, very comfortable bed, a good shower, and a small kitchen that had everything we needed including a welcoming gift of eggs, milk and bread, a bottle of wine and fresh flowers and candles on the table. French doors from both the kitchen and the bed/sitting room open into the quiet street of the hamlet which was full of blooms in June. There is a little patio with café table and chairs, and a washing machine round the corner with a sunny place to hang your laundry behind the house. Elizabeth, the owner, is a lovely person who shared her beautiful garden with us, offered advice and assistance when we needed it, and made us feel welcome without intruding. We wished we could stay longer, and we can recommend this as a wonderful place to stay.

We kept coming back.....

Review Submitted: May 5, 2009 Date of Stay: February 2008
We have spent the past 14 months overseeing a house renovation in the Luberon and during that time stayed in several studios in the area. But the one we kept coming back to was Elizabeth's near Lacoste. We must have stayed there 4 or more times for periods of one to four weeks each time. Firstly, the apartment itself is extremely comfortable; the main room has a comfortable large bed with excellent linens on the bed, a large sofa, wardrobe, television and various other items that you might need. Central heating in winter and a cooling fan in summer (we were there for both seasons). A small but well-equipped kitchen with a table and chairs for eating. A small but again well-equipped shower room with a good shower, sink and toilet.
Elizabeth could not have been more helpful and offers the use of her washing machine and washing line as well as advice on anything you can think of. The apartment was scrupulously clean and attractively furnished (unlike some we have stayed at). Some summer evenings we sat outside the apartment on chairs and watched the scene around us; strolling cats, lovely birds and the occasional person from the hamlet she lives in (there is a patio which you can use as well but we liked sitting right there by the very quiet lane). The studio is situated in a beautiful spot but one that is near everything. A car is essential. We also thought that the rent was very reasonable compared to several other places we stayed. This may seem an over-comprehensive review but we were so exhausted from the labours at our own house that we came to look on Elizabeth's studio as a place of refuge and we would be more than happy to confirm that we did not know her prior to our first stay there in winter last year. We cannot recommend her studio highly enough.

Week in the Luberon

Review Submitted: October 18, 2008 Date of Stay: September 2008
We were very impressed with our ground floor apartment! It had a very large bedroom with a very comfortable bed and a sofa. The kitchen was so well equipped with everything you needed and the owner had stocked the fridge with milk, eggs, butter, a bottle of wine, jam, juice, and a nice fresh baguette was in the bread basket. She had even put a lovely small bouquet of fresh flowers on the kitchen table. How very thoughtful! The bathroom and bedroom had very nice quality towels and linen. Everything was very, very clean! We had full use of the owner's washing machine and had fun hanging our clothes on lines at the back of the house where they dried quickly. The owner, Elizabeth, was a gem! She lent us some of her DVD's and CD's that were in English and made us feel very at-home right away. She was very, very helpful when one of us got sick and was able to make a doctor's appt. on a Sunday morning! As well, she was a very good resource person and had lots of information about the area. We had rented a car for the week that we stayed here and that was a very good idea as the nearby villages and towns were quite spread out. The area was absolutely beautiful and we would definitely return to the same apartment and area in the future. Thank you, Elizabeth!

A lovely pied de terre!

We stayed at the apartment for two weeks and enjoyed every moment. The apartment was clean and welcoming. It is simply, buy nicely decorated and had everything we needed.
The landlady was extremely friendly and went out of her way to make us feel welcome and was helpful in giving advice on local sightseeing. The paperwork side of the rental agreement was professional and done via email and post.
The apartment is in a very small hamlet in a rural location. (Wonderful if you like peace and quiet) A car is an absolute must. However, it seemed central to all the great must see sites of Provence.
