The Studio is a large Georgian open plan apartment overlooking beautiful formal gardens and backing onto the castle walls. Formally part of the Duke of Norfolk estate, having been the stable block to the adjacent Norfolk Arms hotel. The studio is situated to the rear of 26 High Street with its own passageway entrance. The accommodation consists of two enormous rooms, with high ceilings and a separate shower room. The living space includes a modern fitted kitchen with built in cooker, hob, fridge and washing machine. Farmhouse table & chairs, sofa, satellite TV and log burner. Two archways lead to the double bedroom, which overlooks a private decked patio and the garden beyond. A contemporary wet room with shower, loo, basin and heated towel rail. The whole apartment is well presented and furnished, with new gas central heating system and free wireless broadband.

Situated in the historic town of Arundel with its magnificent castle and surrounded by the beautiful South Downs. The town also boasts a cathedral, interesting parish church, river walks and boat trips, Wetlands Centre, Swanbourne boating lake, mini golf, children's playground, tennis courts, outside lido, antique shops, numerous pubs, restaurants and wine bars. The nearest beach is 3 miles away at Climping. The county town of Chichester is ten miles away with its beautiful cathedral and excellent shopping, theatre and cinemas. Chichester harbour, Goodwood race course and motor circuit, Amberley Museum, National Trust properties at Petwoth and Upark and the Weald and Downland Museum are also easily accessible. Arundel station has direct trains to London ( 90 mins), Gatwick and Portsmouth Harbour. Major annual events: Goodwood Festival of Speed, Glorious Goodwood, Goodwood Revival, Chichester Festival Theatre Season, Arundel Festival.

    Payment of rent or deposits by credit card is subject to a 3% surcharge and a £15 surcharge for foreign bank transfers.
  • LONG LET ( minimum 4 weeks Stay): £850 - £1250
    The Studio apartment is available to let on a four weekly basis please enquire for price
    Towels and bed linen are included.
    Gas and electricity is charged at standard suppliers rate per unit.

HIDDEN TREASURE IN ARUNDEL

As soon as I saw Val's Studio apartment in Arundel I fell in love with it.

Being set back from the High Street to the side of Val's delightful garden it is a very peaceful and unique place to stay.

Val was there to greet me and what a charming lady she is. She showed me around and gave me all the local info. For the rest of the time I could always contact her if I needed anything.

The Studio is absolutely charming, tastfully furnished and decorated, 'I loved the chandeliers', well-equipped and super clean.

Off the bedroom you have your own private enclosed patio with table and chairs, just the place to sit and relax with a glass of wine in the evening.

I am an ex-pat and get very homesick at times. I felt very much at home in the Studio and enjoyed walking across the road in the mornings for my paper and coffee in one of the cafes. On the way back I would look into the butcher's window to choose something for dinner not forgetting to pick up groceries and wine on the way.

If you don't fancy cooking there are lots of pubs,wine-bars and restaurants in Arundel and its great because you don't need a car.


There is so much to love about Arundel , The stunning Castle and Cathedral. Tarrant street with all it's shops and restaurants and strolling by the river Avon.

Yes, you're in for a great trip if you decide to visit Arundel and Val's 'Hidden Treasure' is the place to stay.

Excellent centre of town studio

This studio met all our expectations, it was cosy, clean, had a comfortable bed, a well-equipped kitchen and lovely linen. We enjoyed having breakfast in the garden which was quiet and private yet only steps from the High Street of Arundel. Great to walk to the Black Rabbit for lunch (around 2kms away) and having the castle as a neighbour was a real treat. Val, the owner was helpful and friendly. There was so much to see around the area we didn't get to see it all in one week. A very relaxing holiday and good base to see all that West Sussex has to offer. Would recommend highly.

Great holiday home

An ideal holiday base which is comfortable and convenient. Although in the centre of Arundel the loudest noise we heard was from a passing mallard! Step out of the door onto the High Street all the amenities that could be asked for are within a five minute walk. The apartment is comfortable, clean and well equipped. It is also very secluded. Val, the owner was friendly and helpful but never obtrusive. For the first four days of our stay we didn't move our car. We walked along the river (having lunch at the Black Rabbit), walked through Arundel Castle Park and walked up to the top of the Downs through amazing bluebell woods. We also used the train to travel to Chichester.
We plan to return in 2010 as there is still so much we didn't have time to do in a week.

Arundel is a perfect center for exploring Sussex and the South Downs and The Studio is a perfect base--right in town, well-appointed, spotless, comfortable, quiet, and near the shops. Stock up on food at the Co-Op or Pallant's or organic grocery stores and enjoy a meal at home on the patio. In summer there's even a farmer's market. Or, experience anything from pizza to Indian food in the town. For a super pub experience walk or drive (about a mile) to the Black Rabbit right on the river. After a day of wandering around the region or just walking along the River Arun and the town, returning to The Studio certainly beats returning to a hotel room. The landlady, Val, is a treat and a fount of information about the area. I'm looking forward to a return visit.

We totally agree with the former reviews and would definately recommend this apartment to all of our friends. Thanks to Val and her lovely tastefully furnished studio (and the great weather!) our UK stay has been perfect. We were sorry to leave and can't wait to come back.
