Lemon Tree Villa

The villa lived up to all expectations. The photos on the website gave an accurate impression of what we found.It is situated on a beautiful complex with 2 fabulous pools (not heated, so you won't use them in winter) and grapefruit trees around about- they were delicious! The complex is 5-10 minutes by car to the harbour area, and also Upper Paphos. We thought about walking to the harbour but decided that it was a bit far for us.( We went over New Year so walking may be an option in Summer).
The villa itself was well equipped and clean. The hot tub took a long time to get to the required temperature, but was a great addition for the younger members of the family! The patio area was particularly pleasant to use for eating, as would be the roof terrace.
Two particular things impressed us. When the elctricity went off at 8.30 pm on New Year's Eve (probably our fault!) it was sorted out within 20 minutes, with the joint efforts of the caretakers and the security man, both of whom were extremely helpful. We would also recommend our car hire company, Elephant, who came within 20 minutes of receiving a call from us, on a Sunday morning, to replace a punctured tyre. We were mobile within 30 minutes of discovering the problem!
The Roman ruins in Paphos are breath-taking, and the Tombs of the Kings are well worth a visit too. Polis and the coast over on the west are lovely places, and the drive across the hills to get there is spectacular. If you go in winter, a drive up to the Troodos is amazing- sun in Paphos, 2 hours later in 3 feet of snow, among all the local skiing and sledging. Do hire a 4WD though as the roads were a bit slippery.
Loads of good restaurants, near the harbour although quite expensive. The Captain's View was the one we found which did the best meze and the staff were charming. Tip: when you speak to the man outside any restaurant who tries to get your custom ask for free wine-you will nearly always get something gratis!
I would certainly recommend Lemon Tree Villa to friends, and I would add that the service and advice we got from Paphos Holiday rentals via email throughout the time between making our booking and going to Paphos was faultless and extremely helpful.
