Local attractions and things to do:
A TREMENDOUS CHOICE of things to do and places to visit including, in particular, things for children (the Italians love children). Restaurants everywhere welcome children and make a big fuss over them.
FANO - If you want good beaches in a beautiful town Fano will be ideal. It is only 25 minutes to the Blue Flag beaches in Fano and Fano itself is a gorgeous part Roman and Renaissance town rich in art and architecture. There are lovely shops, bars and restaurants, several elegant squares, a superb fish market, an outdoor market twice a week, a busy fishing port and huge marina. You will undoubtedly fall in love with Fano.
CAVES OF FRASSASSI - Our visitors’ No 1 favourite place of interest, including its popularity with children. A stupendous cave system with multi-lingual guides who escort you along the level pathways throughout the cave system.
URBINO -The Renaissance jewel, equal in importance to Florence at the time. A must.
AQUAFAN - a fantastic water-park for all ages

EATING OUT There are so many good places to eat out. Roasts meats are a speciality of the Region, and because of its proximity to a number of commercial fishing ports on the Adriatic fish restaurants are also in abundance serving the most wonderful fish dishes (grilled, fried, baked, risotto, pasta) and is renowned for its Brodetto. Good places for pasta and pizza are to be found everywhere so you can eat superbly within the range of your pocket and all in easy reach! There are about a dozen restaurants within a 15 minute drive.
You can eat truffles in most restaurants in this province because Acqualagne is the truffle centre of Italy. There is a Truffle Festival in Oct/Nov every year when many Italian and International gourmets attend this important gastronomic event. And please don't miss the International Brodetto & Fish Soup festival 12 Sep to 12 Oct.
