Beautiful 16th Century Farmhouse, renovated in 2007 to an extremely high standard in the Manche region of Normandy. La Ferme des Montaigu is set in 3 acres of beautiful grassland, orchards and gardens for all our guests to relax and enjoy. The beautiful grounds have a variety of apple, pear & walnut trees to mention a few, together with our homegrown organic vegetables and herbs for our guests to enjoy. Our chickens, ducks and turkeys have the full freedom of our enclosed orchard and supply all our eggs for our home baked cakes, desserts and of course breakfast. There are beautiful breathtaking views of the Normandy countryside, our house is situated so you can view the 'Etang des Montaigu' 'the lake' so you can relax and take a spot of fishing on the doorstep, and maybe come back and enjoy lunch at 'La Ferme Des Montaigu. The beautiful Valley's and woods in Normandy are abound with Wildlife including Deer, Wild Boar, Birds of Prey and red Squirrels.

We have 3 acres of beautiful gardens and field for our guests to relax and use at their leisure. Within the garden area at 'La ferme des montaigu, We have a 5.5m above ground shared swimming pool which is great for an early morning dip or a cool down when its hot. Beautiful decking area withsun loungers and table and chairs together with a gas BBQ for you to use. If your feeling energetic why not try out the trampoline which is available for all our guests. we have for the little ones a swing and sea saw, & swing ball. Our field is large enough to play football on, or you might fancy practising your golf swing. Or right on our doorstep you might like to fish on the ' Etang Des Montaigu' 'the lake'.( daily permit required). We have our pet Pig Peggy, which if you like you may feed as she is very friendly, we have free range chickens and a few sheep with the orchard.

La Ferme Des Montaigu, B&B between the market towns of Villedieu Les Poeles & Gavray in Manche Normandy. We are within a hour of many of the local tourist attractions. The 2nd most visited place in France 'Le Mont st Michel' is a must to be seen, or why not drive around the coast to Cancale and sample the oysters fresh from the sea. The Historic city of St Malo was a major nest for pirates for centuries and the thick city walls date back to that period and Granville has beautiful cobbled streets full of shops and restaurants to enjoy. The Bayeaux Tapestry is just 40 mins drive , and the D Day Landings Memorials & Museums are about an hour away. We are about a 10 Mins from Brehal, Joueville & Granville where the beautiful beaches are a must for the little to explore. Champrepus Zoo you have a chance to discover the landscaped setting of the animal world in a variety of themed gardens, the Zoological park is situated on D924 between Villedieu & Granville

Bed & Breakfast: We have two luxury en suite bedrooms at 'la ferme de montaigu', one large family room to sleep four adults or children, with en suite bathroom with double shower and one double bedroom with separate bathroom with hydro bath, all rooms are tastefully decorated and are in keeping with a traditional french charm. All rooms have hairdryers and ironing facilities.

Self Catering Gite: We let our property in two ways either on a B&B basis or self catering, we can accommodate up to 10 people with the use of two large separate lounge/dining rooms. We offer the following:- One bedroom self catering Gite to sleep 4 Two bedroom self catering Gite to sleep 6 Three bedroom self catering Gite to sleep 8-10 Within the gite there is a fully equipped kitchen, two large lounge/dining rooms, and three acres of fields and gardens for you to enjoy

Other Activities: We are so lucky to have the 'Etang des Montaigu' on our doorstep for fishing. (permit required)

Nice and Quiet Holiday in the Countryside

We really enjoyed staying in an old but recently-refurbished farmhouse, in the middle of a magnific scenery. Our hosts treated us like old friends, trying their best to make us feel confortable. The meals they served us were rich and tasty.
The location of B&B was really convenient, easily reachable from the motorway and suitable as a starting point for day trips in Normandy.

Easter at La Ferme des Montaigu

A beautiful farmhouse in a glorious place. It is beautifully decorated and finished to a very high standard - the website just doesn't do it justice. The kitchen is well equipped and there are large areas for dining and for sitting and relaxing. The owners were charming and very helpful and allowed us to use their phone to sort out a broken windscreen. The kids loved their room and enjoyed running around in the wide open spaces. We would definitely like to go back, perhaps with friends and would recommend this property to anyone.

A charming B&B in a beautiful countryside

I've been there with my wife who is waiting fir a baby. The place is simply nice and beautiful. No pollution, no cars, no noise, a lake, lot of pathes across the normandy's country. It is close from caen (less than 1hour by car), coutances and Avranches.
Wendy & Phil are also working to get this place very nice by their true friendliness.

Normandy Bliss

I wanted to show my girlfriend the pleasures of normandy as i hadn't visited for so long & she had never been to france.
We spent a long weekend-5 days-which was perfect to confirm my recollection of the country & for her to fall in love with it.
To give an idea of the area,two people at different times used the words 'normandy & calm' in the same sentence.
We visited in early may which saw all the trees/hedges...anything green,at their most GREEN.I thought england was green but la manche & the areas we drove through were unbelievable.
La Ferme des Montaigu with its 3 cats,2 kittens,chickens(fresh eggs every morning),ducks,3 piglets was as idyllic as in the pictures.When looking for the b&b look for the sign 'etang des montaigu' then take the next entrance (10 meters) into the b&b past La Ferme house.
The only surprise personally was the cost of fuel..& shoes.
Do not be in two minds whether or not to stay,just GO!!

Wendy and Philip extended a warm welcome, making for
a memorable trip and pleasant relaxing experience. They
were helpful in planning our visits to Bayeux and Mt.St.
Michael, as well as the D-day beaches. Be prepared for
a fine breakfast, excellent accommodations and genuine
french hospitality in truly neat and clean accommodations,
all at a very affordable rate. Our great find is now yours.
