Weather in Russia

Tourism in Russia thrives during July and August when temperatures average around 24?C, which may come as a pleasant surprise to those who look at Russia as a cold, bleak country. Of course, making climatic generalisations about such a vast, varied country is not hugely accurate, there are some good rules of thumb to follow. Winters are very cold in Russia, with temperatures ranging from anything from 10?C to -50?C! The shoulder season, in May and June, and again from September until October is a particularly pleasant time to travel to Russian accommodation.

Most people on a holiday to Russia will fly to either Moscow (SVO) or St Petersburg (LED). There are many direct flights to Russia from the UK, connecting all the major cities. British Airways provide flights on the majority of routes.
