Villaricos holiday apartment

This review is easy to write, this appartment is a great base for a taste of old Spain. From the desserted beach 5 mins walk away to the fishing boats delivering their catch direct to the restaurant door, there isn't anything I would change about the village. For the more adventerous there is the Aqua park, which is fantastic value but becomes even cheaper after 4pm. That still gives you 2 hours of family safe fun in a quality park that kept our 9 year old and 3 year old busy until the sun went down. The appartment itself is a major bargain. It is neat, modern and has more space then we were expecting. The bedrooms are very comfortable and having an extra bathroom for the kids was really useful, especially after a day at the beach. The neighbours were friendly, when we saw them and this is the whole charm of Villaricos. We didn't feel packed in like sardines and could spend hours on the beach without seeing a single person. There is plenty to do and see, Garrucha has a stunning beach with the largest breakers I have seen so close to the shore. We all had great fun being washed up onto the beach. Our record was 3 waves before being knocked over. If thats not your thing then drive up into the hills to Mojacar. With its twisty streets and little stores it is the perfect place for picking up those knick-knacks to bring home. If you want night clubs, bars and partying , this is not the place for you. If you want a relaxing family holiday with a range of things to do and see or a taste of the real Spain, this is the perfect place to stay.
