Situated in the charming village of Tignes les Brévières (1550m), apartment La Sassière comprises the lower floor of a beautiful modern chalet built in the classical Savoyard style of wood and natural stone. Having its own entrance and full length balcony, the self-catered apartment is situated 500m from the slopes and lifts. Recently completed, the apartment has been fitted throughout with new fixtures, fittings, furniture and appliances. The two bedrooms (1 double, 1 twin) are comfortably furnished and there is a spacious luxury shower room and separate toilet. The lounge is equipped with a flat screen TV receiving English/French channels. A sofa-bed accommodates two further guests giving a maximum occupancy of six. The open plan kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, ceramic hob, combination microwave oven and dishwasher. The dining area seats six. The apartment has free WiFi Internet access.

Tignes les Brévières is a charming traditional village forming part of the Espace Killy, one of the most extensive skiing and snowboarding areas in the world. With an excellent snow record it offers 300 km of prepared slopes to an altitude of 3456 m with 96 lifts serving 22 green, 64 blue, 35 red, and 16 black runs. In addition there are 2 skiable glaciers, 2 snow parks, 2 half pipes and 44 km of cross country tracks. This whole ski area is accessed from the lifts located within a 500 m walk from the apartment or if you prefer, there is a free car park next to the slopes. As part of this picturesque village you will find authentic Savoyard restaurants, local pubs, ski school, ski rental shops, mini market, post office, cash point and virtually everything you need to make your holiday memorable. A 15min drive away is Val d’Isère, where you can enjoy extensive shopping in beautiful surroundings or Tignes le Lac for ice skating on the frozen lake and a visit to the new sports centre.

Further details of facilities: The 55m2 apartment comprises the whole bottom floor of a chalet set on a hillside overlooking the village of Tignes les Brévières. There is an external ski storage locker and just inside the apartment front door there is a heated area for ski boots and skiwear. In the lounge is a sofa bed which may be converted to a double or two single beds. There is a 26in flat screen TV receiving English and French channels, a DVD player (with a selection of DVDs), a CD/Radio that also plays MP3 files on CDs, USB stick or SD/MMC card. The apartment benefits from Wifi broadband internet access at no extra charge.

The open plan kitchen is generously equipped with base and wall units housing a four ring ceramic hob, combination microwave oven, large refrigerator with freezing compartment and a full-sized dishwasher. There is a kettle, toaster, cafetière and a raclette machine. The dining table seats six.

There is one double and one twin bedroom both of which are equipped with fitted wardrobes offering generous shelving and hanging space. The spacious shower room is equipped with a large walk-in shower, a fitted vanity unit with storage space, large mirror, generous lighting and sockets for shaver and hair dryer. There is a separate toilet and a large walk-in cupboard for general storage. A hair dryer and digital safe are also provided.

This was a first class apartment with all the facilities and equipment we needed. It is situated in a good position with a good open outlook, and Les Brevieres is an excellent place to stay for skiing in the Tignes/Val d'Isere area.
The apartment was well kitted out with cooking utensils etc., and the standard of fittings and furniture helped contribute to a very enjoyble stay. The owner's were friendly and helpful, and gave us lots of good advice about where to ski.
Would recommend this to anyone.

We had a fabulous 1 week skiing holiday staying at Chalet La Sassiere.

As a family of four with two boys, aged 11 and 13, we all found this property to be absolutely ideal for our needs.
It was immaculate inside, with a good size living area, two comfortable bedrooms and a lovely bathroom with a great shower and plenty of hot water. The chalet was very well heated, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the facilities you could need for easy cooking. There was also plenty of storage for all our personal belongings, boots, bags etc.. and a separate, outside lockup storage for your skis.

La Sassiere was also well located in the village of La Breviere, near the small shops and restaurants and very convenient for skiing, being only a short walk from the main gondola, (although taking our car down to the free car park, just outside the main gondola was well worth it - especially as you would otherwise have to carry your skis uphill on the way home)!

Ken and Cynthia were both really efficient with all their correspondence with us and couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything we needed to make our holiday easier and more pleasurable.

We would highly recommend this lovely little chalet to all our friends and to anyone wanting a convenient, comfortable and restful stay in what is a great skiing area.

Thank you very much Ken and Cynthia, we would definitely like to book and come back again one day.

Fantastic time in French Alps.

The chalet and its owners’ hospitality were beyond satisfying. The chalet is newly renovated and has plenty of room to comfortably fit up to 6 people. You can find anything that you possibly need in a household for cooking, sleeping, etc.

The chalet’s is conveniently located as well. The local van service can take you straight to the lift and back home after the full day of skiing.

I shall certainly consider of coming back to this place sometime in a future.

An excellent apartment, I would highly recommend this accommodation to my friends and would stay again when we return to Tignes.

Spacious, clean, modern apartment with all mod-cons, which is hard to find in most French ski-reports. Although there was only three of us, it would also be perfect for two couples or four adults sharing.

Ken and Cynthia, the owners, are really friendly and helpful as mentioned in the other reviews.

The apartment is a short walk up-hill from the village but it’s not a big problem as the scenery is very pleasant and the location is friendly and quiet. The ski-lifts offers quick and easy links to Tignes le Lac and beyond.

The village has a small number of bars and restaurants but are all very friendly and good service. We would recommend the L’Armailly Restaurant, across the main road from the ski lifts, as we were in there most nights!

If you plan to self-cater most nights then I would recommend to stop at the large supermarket in Bourg st.Maurice (15 minutes drive from the apartment) as the local shop is very expensive.

Overall an excellent location which contributed to an excellent weeks holiday.

En famille avec trois enfants, nous avons passés un excellent séjour dans l'appartement de Ken. Son état est comme neuf, avec une cuisine très bien équipée et une très belle salle de bain. Les chambres sont jolies et la literie est confortable. Le wifi marche bien. Il manque peut-être quelques chaînes de télévision françaises. Le village est aussi super-agréable et on peut skier à tous les niveaux. Et Ken est aux petits soins!
