Our lovely 2 bedroom apartment is extremely spacious and very comfortably furnished with modern furniture, giving it a light and airy look. The south facing patio doors open from the lounge onto a sunny terrace, ideal for outside dining and some serious sunbathing, or just relax with a book and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the beautiful gardens. If it gets too hot for you, stroll along to the pool area and cool down in the magnificent swimming pool. The kitchen is separated from the lounge by a breakfast bar and has everything you could possibly need, whether you are cooking for the family or just mixing the drinks! To complete our holiday home there are two good sized twin bedrooms, a new modern wet room and a further shower room, making this an ideal choice for two couples or a small family.

Ideally situated, only 42kms from Faro airport via the new IP1 motorway. The apartment is on the popular Sao Rafael holiday village and is set amongst several acres of well maintained mature gardens, with a large communal pool and separate children's pool. Sao Rafael is one of the treasures of the Algarve, just a 5 min stroll from the apartment and you can be on one of Sao Rafael’s beautiful sandy beaches with the superb sands of Gale beach just a short drive away. You can enjoy the dramatic views from one of the many cliff walks or just chill and sample the freshly caught fish at the locally run beach restaurants. There is a good choice of restaurants and snack bars nearby, many in easy walking distance. For the golf lover the nearest course is Salgados approx 4kms with many top courses within easy reach.

Albufeira: The apartment is approx 2km from the bustling old town of Albufeira, with its lovely beaches, numerous shops, bars and fine restaurants. Its quaint town square is an ideal place to relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Or if you like a bargain and enjoy the sport of 'haggling,' visit one of the colourful gypsy markets and try out your skilll. If all this is just a bit too relaxing for you, and you prefer something a little livelier, visit the new part of town. Known locally as “the strip” with lots of bars, clubs and discos with excellent music. Albufeira’s new marina, is only 1.5kms away. A leisurely stroll, mostly downhill – and a taxi ride back for the faint hearted! Harbouring over 400 boats and with shops, bars and restaurants this will be another popular tourist attraction.

Golf: Keen golfers find that the location of this apartment is ideal to combine both a beach and a golfing holiday, and it also works particularly well for partners and children who do not participate in the sport. Everyone can be happy! Discounts are available at most courses, please request when booking.

Great apartment in a beautiful area

We had an excellent weeks holiday, Apartment 22 was wonderful. Even though there were five of us(including three and a half year twin boys) we found it was more than big enough.
The apartment was spotlessly clean and had a very well equipped kitchen. The complex had beautifully kept gardens and also a nice pool area that we made use of each day.

We Spent most days visiting the local beaches that were only a fifteen minute stroll away, even with the boys! Both nearby beaches where excellent, Arrifes beach was great for the kids with safe bathing and lots of rock pools for crabbing, Sao Rafael beach was the nicest beach we have seen on mainland Europe, It was in a stunning setting with beautifully clean sand.

There are some nice restaurants nearby, We ate at the Praia Grande restaurant twice, this was only a short walk away and had stunning views over the Atlantic and the food was beautiful with a great menu, especially if you like fish, The Octopus was delicious.

We went to Albufeira old town a couple of nights and once again found some excellent restaurants.

Overall we had a brilliant time and I would certainly recommend apartment 22, We will certainly return.

Lovely and spacious apartment

We are just back from our holidays. The apartment is big enough and easily accommodated 2 adults and 3 children. Its location is great. 3/4 of an hour from Faro airport easy to find with the information of Andrew, 5 min walk to Praia Sao Rafael, 1 min walk to the Swimming pool. 5 min drive to Albufeira with all its restaurants and supermarket.
The area is a bit hilly but nothing too serious. The gardens around the complex are beautiful and very well maintained. There is some building work going on quite near and it seems to have taken away some of what was previously part of the complex (tennis courts and playground) but we didn't find it affected our holiday. You couldn't see it from the apt and hardly heard any noise at all.
The pools are very nice and the kid’s one is a decent size. Currently there are no snack bar facilities available in the complex. The local beach is great. And has gritty sand and plenty of space and the other was a lovely little cove with plenty of rock pools for the kids to explore. Both are very well facilitated with snack bars, restaurants and toilet facilities.
We hired a car for the week and would recommend this for anyone who wants to go to other beaches and into Albufeira on a regular basis.
Some lovely places to go are Albufeira , Aqualand(Alcantarilha), Sagres(end of Portugal),Almancil(carting), Pera(Sandtown), Lagos, Zoomarine, Barragem da Bravura(excellent for walking trips), Vale da Telha (lovely beach on the west-coast)
We would recommend this property quite highly

Clean, spacious apartment in a great location.

We have just returned from this lovely part of the world and wanted to write a few words for anyone else looking at this property. The apt is very spacious and easily accomodated 3 adults and 2 children. Its location is great. 3/4 of an hour from Faro airport, 5 min walk to 2 local beaches, 5 min drive to beautiful Gale beach and 5 min drive in other direction takes you to Albufera with all its restaurants and buzzing nightlife. There is also a local shop, snack bar and restaurant within 5 minutes walk.

The area itslef is a bit hilly but nothing too serious. The gardens around the complex are beautiful and very well maintained. There is some building work going on quite near and it seems to have taken away some of what was previously part of the complex (tennis courts and playground) but we didn't find it affected our holiday. You couldn't see it from the apt and hardly heard any noise at all.

We hired a car for the week and would recommend this for anyone who wants to go to other beaches and into Albufera on a regular basis. You could do it by taxi but it would probably be cheaper to hire a car.

The only downsides were that the towels were old and worn but when we mentioned this they were quickly replaced. Also, the owner needs to provide a bit more practical info in the info pack at the apt - a better map of the property and how to get to its local beaches, some more local info and directions on how to get to different places such as Gale beach, Albufera and Zoo Marine.

As well as the beaches and Albufera we also visited Pera (but would not recommend it), and we went to Zoo Marine which we all loved. They have a great Dolphin show and we found the whole place really suitable for our two children aged 2 and 4. They had a ball.

Overall we would recommend this property quite highly.
