Spa therapy: In the nearby village of Cambo de Bain, you will find a Thermal station offering both therapeutic and medicinal spa treatments set in tropical gardens.
Activities: Biarritz, known as the 'California of Europe' by the surfers, is located on the Atlantic Ocean, ca. 200 km south of Bordeaux and 40km north of the Spanish border. Benefiting from a invigorating climate, Biarritz attracts a wide range of population keen on thalassothérapie (spa treatment), cultural visit, water sports activities, rugby, golf, walks (great walks in the Pyrénées), etc. The region is renowned for its welcoming population, its strong traditions, its quality of life and art-de-vivre (good food and wine). Restaurants offer great value for money if you like foie gras, duck, cepes, or the traditional food from the south west of France. Souraide is a small Basque village just out side Espelette which is famous for it’s red peppers. The Basque region is famous for is culture with its own language and unique selection of games and pastimes.
Local attractions: The village of Espellete famous for it piment. The little train to the top of La Rune with fantastic views of the basque coast line. The friendly 18 hole golf course in the village of Souraide offer the highs and lows of golf (peaks and valleys). The caves at Sare Wonderful sandy beaches from Hendeya to the Grande Plague in Biaritz. The lake at St Pee great for small children to bathe.
Golf: Souraide golf course is less than 2 km from the house and within 30km there are no less than 10 golf courses: Biarritz le Phare, Chiberta, Ilbarritz, Chantaco, Arcangues, La Nivelle, Bassussary, Hossegor, Seignosse and Moliets. Please note that a golf pass exists for 5 of them (Biarritz le Phare, Arcangues, Moliets, Bassussary and Seignosse).
