Callas de Mallorca itself is located on the south east side of the island and enjoys a favourable position on the coast of the island taking an hour from the airport by hire car.
The season typically starts around mid May and finishes around early October The resort itself is quite small and the majority of action appears to be based around the main centre which is really the focus point for the whole resort. The centre itself has bars, restaurants, supermarkets, internet cafes, gift shops, perfume shops, etc.. Callas de Mallorca is ideal for couples or families looking for quite a quiet resort without all the hustle, bustle of the larger resorts. Callas de Mallorca is popular for its clean beaches, there are three small sandy coves Cala Antena, Cala Domingos Grans and Cala Donmingos Petis. The latter two are situated next to each other and separated by a small rockery section. The beaches are very clean and have deck chairs, sun beds, pedalos, etc. on offer for hire daily.
There is a small train that connects the three beaches and for a Euro you can jump on the train or at 3 Euros you can have unlimited access to the train all day long. There is a daily bus to Palma during the summer months which runs approximately 6 times a day which offers the chance to explore the other parts of the island. The pearl factory in the nearby town of Manacor, about 15 minutes drive offers the chance to see the pearl making process, and the history of the industry. The larger town of Porto Cristo is located a similar distance away, just a little north from Callas de Malorca and offers a much wider range of shops and restaurants as well as some trips on glass bottomed boats.
