Lot holiday villa: Castelnau Montratier

We rented this gite for one week in July 2008 (and wished it had been two). The age range of our family was from 3 years to 60 years, and we all found it a very enjoyable and very relaxing holiday.

The accommodation was first class. The gite was very clean and extremely well equipped, we found everything that we needed and more. It's a traditional building with a lovely feel and lots of character. When we arrived we found lots of information available about local facilities, local attractions and not so local attractions. It was exactly as we had hoped for.

The surrounding gardens were lovely, very well kept and very tidy with absolutely stunning views all around. The heated pool had recently been refurbished and was one of the cleanest I have used while on holiday. Again, it was cleaned and maintained to a very high standard by the owners, who came without us even having to see them. It also has a new modern poolside shower which was nice and warm. There were adequate sun loungers and we had sun on the terrace and by the pool all day and into the early evening, which meant we were able to enjoy our BBQ's and eating outside.

The owners live close by but were by no means intrusive and were happy to answer any questions we had, though I must admit we had very few.

You will definitely need a car if renting this gite. The journey from Toulouse airport took us about an hour. The small traditional village is about a 5 minute drive away from the gite where you will find a small supermarket which stocks everything you will probably need. It has a couple of small cafes and a few small local shops. It really is very pleasant. There are some larger supermarkets if needed about 20 minutes away.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday then I cannot reccommend this place enough. Our whole experience from start to finish was wonderful and I would very much like to return again this year.

Our family (which included young children) visited the property in July of this year (2008) and found it to be of an extremely high standard, so much so we plan to visit again in the near future.
The owners were extremely helpful, friendly and non-intrusive and went out of their way to ensure our holiday ran smoothly with an excellent standard of customer service 100% of the time.
The barn itself was of an extremely high standard, very comfortable and with everything equipped to ensure the holiday was a relaxing one which included a microwave and even a dishwasher.
The gardens, grounds and surrounding areas were stunning and no amount of photos will do it justice, the pool was a welcome relief from some beautiful weather and the children certainly made good use of it!
Overall we had a holiday to remember, will be recommending it to our friends and look forward to taking the rest of the family next time! Thankyou for a wonderful stay
