Downstairs is a spacious, well-equipped kitchen/diner with traditional log-burning range and dining for up to 6 people. The open-plan living room boasts a wooden floor, fireplace and generous sofa. The family shower-room has been completely refurbished. Upstairs are 2 sunny, double bedrooms, one with a balcony. The garden provides the perfect winter setting for playing in the snow and tobogganing: in summer for relaxing in the sun whilst listening to the sound of cow bells. Walking and mountain bike trails start from the chalet. The chalet is just 5 minutes drive to the centre of Samoens and then to the Samoens Gondola, providing access to Samoens 1600 and the resort of Flaine.

A perfect alpine getaway.

I would recommend Chalet Clos Parchet for everyone who would like a real Alpine getaway. I loved it so much that I have stayed twice! It is perched high up the mountain with the most wonderful views in all directions. Having breakfast out side was a real treat, especially with the sound of the stream bubbling away and in the spring you can hear the cow bells in the distance.

It is away from the more tourist areas and yet in easy reach of the main village below which has amble parking and a great range of restaurants and bars.

The chalet itself is quite charming and really warm and cosy with the log fire. The sofas are are roomy and very comfortable, especially after a days activities. The bathroom has a great shower and there was enough hot water for everyone to have a long shower. The bathroom itself was really warm so getting dry whilst watching the snow falling outside was very pleasant. The kitchen had everything we needed and the coffee cafetiere was a nice touch. The beds were clean and comfortable and there was plenty of duvets.

We flew in from a regional airport to Geneva and the one hour journey to the chalet was very straight forward. On our second trip we used the tom tom and it took us right to the door!

A fantastic chalet - March 09

We stayed at Chalet Clos Parchet for a week at the beginning of March 09. There was so much snow! We couldn't get the car down the road to the house but the off road parking was fine. You really do need a car to stay here. The chalet itself is lovely- very cosy and comfortable. The living room is a great space to relax after a days skiing- the open fire is a bonus. The rooms were comfy too- loads of space and storage in the main bedroom- not so much in the smaller room but plenty for us overall. The bedding and tea towels are provided but you'll need to take your own towels. There were 4 adults in our party and we pretty much filled the house. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you could need.
Overall, this was a lovely place to stay- great location, easy to get to, fantastic views etc. The owners are great to deal with as well- very helpful and great communicators.

I stayed at Chalet Clos Parchet for three weeks with my dogs and a friends visited for a week or long weekends. A fenced area would be useful for toiletting the dogs safely. The garden was covered in deep snow and there was plenty of space for the dogs to play. The garden would be wonderful with small children and everyone enjoyed crossing the bridge over the small stream to get to the front door.

The chalet is clean and pretty and the shower room was well thought out. Some maintenance items need to be finished but this chalet is obviously work in progress and the owners have added some lovely touches to make you feel welcome.

Even in winter there are lots of interesting walks starting from the chalet or higher up the mountain. The views are stunning and this chalet is lovely if you want to get away from it all (we did). The chalet was warm and cosy and the open fire and wood burning stove (brilliant for casseroles) added to the comfort and charm. A car is essential as the walk to town is over an hour. By car it takes 10-15 minutes down a spectacular winding road. At the top of the mountain there is a plateau called Joux Plane which is quiet and perfect for walks on racquets (snow shoes). There is also a lovely restaurant at Joux Plane where they do the BEST omelettes for breakfast - the galettes and vin chaud are pretty good too.

Restaurant recommendation in town is La Piaz for good service and really good galettes (and reasonably priced). Try the cider!

A perfect base for our activity summer holiday.

Review Submitted: November 14, 2008 Date of Stay: August 2008
Having only experienced The Alps in the winter, our first ever summer break in the mountains was all we had wished for. Chalet Clos Parchet is beautiful and the views divine. Our 15 year old son had asked for an `adrenaline rush' holiday this year and from our comfortable base we were able to enjoy?! many white knuckle activities both on the Samoens side of the mountain and over on the Morzine side too. We flew through the air at 70km/hr on zip wires high in the mountains at Fantasticable, we jumped into water falls and abseiled down rock faces canyoning, we climbed high in the trees over at `Cascade Adventure', we rode horses in thunderstorms and we ran out of time for parascending and cycling. We managed to relax too and walked high in the mountains, tried to walk up some of our winter black runs, soaked up the atmosphere in Samoens village and relaxed in the garden. We fell in love with the mountains in summer. The Chalet had all we needed and has a beautiful open fire and by far the most comfortable sofa we have ever sat on in a chalet! It must be gorgeous in winter time to collapse onto that sofa in front of a roaring fire to enjoy a glass of wine!
We have many happy memories of our stay at Chalet Clos Parchet and I can still picture the views. We are looking forward to staying there again in the future.Thank you for sharing your chalet with us.
