A gorgeous property divided into 2 beautiful and spacious apartments, set in a lovely walled garden with large pool with kid's area. These 2 high quality comfortable apartments each have 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, plus kitchen/ living rooms. The house is ideally located in an unspoilt village with every amenity at hand. You can stroll to very reasonably priced bars, restaurants e.t.c. in 2-3 minutes, along with a range of shops. A 15 minute walk takes you to the fabulous beach at Foz do Arelho, with safe bathing, a watersports centre & more cafes/bars. Portugal's top Golf Resort, Praia D'El Rey, is less than 30 minutes drive away. The villa's layout enables 2 groups to share a holiday whilst allowing privacy. The independantly accessed first floor apartment has views of the Obidos lagoon in the distance, whilst the ground floor has access onto the terrace and pool. The city of Caldas da Rainha is 10 minutes drive for everyday needs and many other interesting places to visit are nearby.

The villa is ideally located near all the amenities of Foz village. The huge beach and lagoon are an easy 15-20 minute walk, or 2 mins by car. On the lagoon is a water sports centre and safe bathing. There are a number of restaurants e.t.c. in Foz and on the beach & prices are very reasonable. Sea fishing is popular here, & you can also book horse riding at the 'Quinta' in the village. There is a top class golf course/spa within 35 minutes drive i.e. Praia del Rey, & nearby you'll find the city of Caldas with a daily market, shops, banks e.t.c. and also the amazing medieval walled town of Obidos with it's beautiful cobbled streets and regular festivals. There are a number of beautiful bays within an easy drive e.g. Sao Martinho and Nazare. Popular surfing beaches are found at Baleal and Peniche, and you can arrange to visit local vineyards. Lisbon is under 1 hour away with regular buses running from Caldas. Other historic sites of interest include Fatima, Sintra, Batalha and Alcobaca.

  • The main bedroom in each apartment has an ensuite, and there is a family bathroom for the other 2 bedrooms in each apartment. Bed linen and towels are provided, and are changed weekly [for stays of 2 weeks or more]. The upstairs double bedrooms have access to an outdoor terrace with views over the pool and to the lagoon in the distance. The twin does not have this access and so is safer for children. Downstairs, the 2 double bedrooms have patio doors onto the terrace which leads then to the pool. Again the twin does not have this access and so is safer for kids. PLEASE NOTE; Due to the opening windows upstairs , the pool, terrace and outside stairs, small children must be supervised at all times. We cannot be held responsible for injury/accidents that occur in the house or the terrace/pool area. There is a barrier which separates the pool from the ground floor patio, but this is not substantial. Please note the house is non smoking, we would ask that guests who smoke do so outside.

Notes: The seating is different for each separate apartment, both apartments accommodate 6 people each to sleep, and the upstairs apartment has a dining table for 8, whilst downstairs has seating for 6. There is no area large enough indoors for 12 people to sit down and eat together. There are 2 tables for use outside with the garden chairs which could allow 12 people to eat outside together. There are 8 sun loungers. Each apartment has an air conditioning/heating unit in the living rooms only. Small electric fan heaters are available for the bedrooms if required.

Superb house in excellent condition and a really good location with a large and busy beach that always had room to accommodate late-commers. Also plenty of interesting places to visit very close to hand. We just got back and had a wonderful time and cannot recommend it enough.

Only one or two issues such as sun-loungers being a little damaged but no issues with using them.

One of the best holidays Iv had

We really did have the best time staying at the villa! As you can tell from the photos it is a beautiful villa, but once we got there it look even better! Very clean with everything we needed as well as a very helpfully little book that recommend lots of great thing to do.

The best part had to be beautiful pool and with a great BBQ area, some days there was no need to leave the villa. But when we did the beach & bars were only a 5 min walk away and we had some great evening down at the various bars having a drink and watching the sunset.

This really was one of the best holidays Iv had! The villa is in a great location and the owners were so helpful, I can’t wait to go back!

The villa was stunning, well decorated, clean & tidy and had a fantastic pool. The description provided was spot on and we (a mixed group of friends and I) had an amazing time.

The village was great with bars along the beach front. We had a great time soaking up the sun at the villa and on the beach, where you could do watersports.

A short drive away were some lovely sightseeing attractions which were good if the weather was slightly overcast.

The local restaurants were great, friendly staff and lovely fish dishes, but equally the villa was kitted out for any style cooking.

The people in Foz were friendly and welcoming and the prices were very reasonable.

The booking of the villa was easy and hassle-free and the owners accommodating and helpful (providing information on travel, distances and tourist information).

I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone!

Had the most amazing time in this wonderful villa. The pictures just dont do it enough justice. Very spacious inside and out, very clean. The location was perfect for the local bars, restuarants and the stunning lagoon and beach. The pool was fantastic and had so much use. The service from the owners was first class. They were so helpful before we had even left to go holiday, and gave very helpful information about the location from the airport, and the attractions/places to visit. Foz itself, is a beautiful place with a traditional portuguese feel, and i highly recommend it. The BBQ was superb aswell and got plenty of use. Thanks Kathryn and Keith for helping make it such a wonderful holiday for Me, Soph and our dearest friends.

Lovely villa in a lovely village

This was an excellent villa with plenty of space and a fabulous pool in private gardens. We were a group of 3 families with 6 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 16 to 18. The beach was spectacular and everything was within walking distance including excellent local shops for all the food you need, a lovely patisserie and very friendly locals with excellent english. The facilities at the villa were also excellent with barbeques, washing machines, dish washers, etc. Obidos was well worth a visit.
