Spend your next holiday in the tranquil village of L'Ampolla, next to the Mediterranean on the Costa Daurada. The two bedroom apartment is one block from the sea, cafes, yacht club, marina and wonderful restaurants where you can enjoy seafood carpaccio and razor clams. Great for foodies! A newly constructed beach and wooden walkway along the coastline, leading to the Delta is just a few minutes walk away and many quite and secluded coves are just a car drive away. The apartment's kitchen has an American bar with granite work surfaces and is well appointed for the gourmet cook. The rooms are light, bright and airy with modern furnishings. It feels like home because it is home to the owners four months of the year. It is with easy walking distance of the train.

L'Ampolla is very close to the fabulous cat fishing on Spain's longest river the Ebro, emptying into the sea and forming the biggest river delta in Europe, the Delta Ebro. View the vast expanse of rice paddies and the rare wildlife such as flamingos and herons in this environmentally protected area. Explore many medieval hill top towns such as Morella and Miravet, also Peniscola where the film 'El Cid' was shot. There is a new pitch and putt 18 hole golf course built in L'Ampolla. Activities include hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife viewing, shopping, museums, wine tasting, swimming, boating and exploring ancient cities and ruins like Tarragona and Tortosa and unspoilt villages like Horta de Sant Joan and the wine growing village of Bott. The bustling cities of Barcelona and Valencia are a two hour train ride away and the theme park Porta Ventura and the aqua parks near Salou and La Pineda are half an hour away.

Central Location in a great Spanish Village

L'Ampolla is a beautiful Spanish fishing village, which has an abundance of restaurants serving freshly caught fish to pizza. The week we booked 16-23 July, there was lots going on, a fiesta and a parade. The beaches were beautiful, a choice between pebbly or sandy, with plenty of coves for exploring.
However, with regards to the apartment, we were dissapointed to find on arrival that it was less than 25m from the main train line, despite being advertised as within easy location of the station, we hadn't realised it would be so close.
This apartment does not have a balcony, unfortunate if you like to sit outside with a glass of wine, it is also very compact! It advertises that it is suitable for 5, however it was a bit crowded with that amount of people.There was a garage to the property but this was not part of the rental agreement, but would have been of great help, as the only parking was street side, and on occasion we had to park some distance from the apartment.
The air conditioning did not work, although, there were 2 fans which helped to reduce the temperature in the apartment.
The letting agent was very friendly and helpful.
Owner's Response: Many thanks for this review Steve.. As mentioned, L'Ampolla is indeed a lovely holiday location with lots to offer.
We do how-ever feel that we should respond to the comments on the accommdation. The apartment is exactly as advertised.
It does in fact sleep a possible 6 people, but as it is indeed a modern compact apartment,(50sq.m as written in the particulars), we limit occupancy to 5, with the comfort of our renters in mind.
As the train line runs parallel to the sea through the village, all of the sea-front apartments are within fairly close proximity to the rail line.
The apartment does indeed have a balcony, but unfortunately it is too small for sitting out.
There is a block of 4 garages beneath the accommodation, but none of them are currently available for this unit. Thus not advertised.
There are air-conditioning units in the accommodation, but this has unfortunately never worked efficiently since the block was built. For that reason, we do not advertise the flat as having air-conditioning, but we do supply fans in every room for the comfort of our guests.
Never-the-less, we are always happy to receive constructive comment and continually strive to improve our service. We shall be contacting Steve shortly regarding his request to re-book later this year.
