The House is just 1hr 15min drive from the Ljubliana airport, which benefits from cheap flights operating from London Stansted. Other airports at Klangenfurt and Graz in Austria are only 1.5 hours away. Planina Na Pohorje is small hamlet on a quiet hillside location with stunning views looking into the valley. The traditional chalet style accommodation has a large open plan kitchen and dining area with a balcony overlooking the valley and traditional wood burning fireplace and a separate lounge, which is both cosy and comfortable. There is a Bathroom and Hallway on the Ground Floor with a separate WC. There is a large garage on a lower level, which provides heated storage in the winter for ski equipment and in the summer provides security for bicycles. Upstairs there are 3 attractive chalet style bedrooms, which can comfortably sleep 8 people. Guests with small children should note that stair in the property is quite steep and has winders at the bottom.

The house is situated in the small hamlet of Planina on the Pohorje mountain range 10min by car from the ski resort of Rogla perfect for both summer & winter recreational activities. The quiet hillside location has stunning views over the valley. Cycling, Mountain Biking , Hiking, Golf & fishing are all available . Access to many of the trails is from the house. Rogla ski centre is a fantastic leisure facility with extensive sports facilities, pool, spas & saunas & a Summer & Winter toboggan run. The ski resort is constantly rated as one of the best ski & snowboard resorts in the country. The nearby towns of Zrece & Slovenske Konjice have several good restaurants, plenty of shops & supermarkets. Cultural enthusiasts will enjoy the medieval town of Slovenske Konjice or a visit to Slovenia’s second city Maribor with its many cafes bistros & designer shops it sits attractively on the banks of the river Drava. This wine-producing region offers many opportunities for organised wine tasting.

Notes: The house has two balconies (Bedroom & Dining Kitchen) which may be a consideration for families with young children. There are steps up to the entrance door which would make the house unsuitable for the elderly or infirm.

Summer Activities: In addition to the extensive network of trails available from the house. Maribor which is a 45minute drive is host to the mountain biking world cup. The down hill world cup run is open to the public and is served by a chair lift which runs all year round. The river Drava is one of the richest fishing rivers in Europe for course fishing with over 50 different species of fish. For quality fly fishing I found the river Savinja on route to the Logarska valley approx 45min drive to be very good. Permits are available locally. Walking is a pleasant pastime at any time of year in this region, which has countless wooded trails. Farmhouse tourism ensures that you can always find a lunch stop with great home cooked food produced and prepared on the farm. There is a golf course close to the town of Slovenske Konjice about 20min by car. The course is set amongst vineyards and has a stream running through the centre and includes 9 holes with a total course length of 2500m and a par of 35

Winter Activities: Skiing, Snowboarding and cross-country skiing are very good from December until March in the immediate area. The ski resort at Rogla is not only one of the largest in Slovenia but at 1500m is also one the highest. You will find everything that you need for your skiing holiday ski rental, servicing, restaurants and a kindergarten . A fabulous leisure facility stands at the top of the lift system with Olympic class facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports a pool, thermal baths and saunas. For adrenalin junkies there is a 1.4km toboggan run close to the Ski Centre.

It turned out exactly the place we wanted to have!

Actually while looking for the house for our vacation this property was practically the only one that corresponded to our ideas: quiet picturesque place in mountains, comfortable habitation in alpine style, easy acces to countrie's places of visit, pleasant surroundings just for staying not far from "home'. So in fact it turned out an ideal place for us: away from work thinking, out of megapolis in lovely contryside! Our chidren just adored the animals around and the spring near the house! We loved the night sky full of stars (as we don't see them much in Moscow..) and the great view!... Well, those are our emotional impressions..
To be more useful here are Some Practical Notes to follow. As it was already mentioned by other guests when you first arrive it is not evident to find a house in the last stage of the journey but you just must follow the instructions given by the owner in full accodance (mind kilometerage strictly!). The house on the picture on site looks more isolated then it turned out, but the naiborhood is not at all ! bothering. The house is very comfortable and clean, with everything that may be needed (except the clothes washer :( ). The only inconvenience for us (as we had our small children with us) were the steps that are really very steep. So we had to take more precautions while staying in the house. But Clive had warned us about it beforhand!
Here I should not forget to mention that the oners of the property were very helpful to us with all our qwestions and requests! And, what is very important, the information stated on the site or given by the owner fully corresponds to the facts.
In whole this was very good choice for our vacation. You can easily go around the country or just visit the region which is really nice, or comfortably stay in the house just admiring the superb view in any weather!
So we would like to thank Clive and Ruth once more and to recommened this property to everyone!

I want to thank Clive and Ruth for allowing us an oppertunity to stay at this wonderful house during the winter season. The scenery and view were breath taken as it overlooked the valley. We were only 10 miles from Rogla, about 4.5 miles from Zrece, and maybe 8 miles from Konjice. There is a nice Spa at Rogla or Zrece, we prefered Zrece Treme. The was a small pub in Zrece next to the spa that had fabulous food, I would also recommend eating at the Smogvac, it was about 1.5 KM from the house. If your looking for peace and tranquility, this is the spot. Don't worry about the big dog from the neighbors house, he is very quiet and nice to have around. This house was a perfect get away for our honeymoon. If you go to Konjice, there is really good shopping and restaurants there also to eat at, a much larger town. There is a book in the house that has alot of information in it, it was very helpful to us. The beds were very confortable though they are all upstairs. The house was clean and tidy upon arrival. Great holiday in Slovenia

We stayed here for a week in February for a 1st ever family skiing holiday and had a great time. The house is just as the description and the views over the valley were awesome. There are lots of walks straight from the house through very pretty pine forests and countryside. We booked skiing lessons before we went from the ski school at Rogla which is about 15min drive up to the top of the mountain. Clive, the owner was very helpful to us throughout the booking process and gave us lots of information and made sure the house was lovely and warm for when we arrived.
I would highly recommend this property for either winter skiing/ walking or summer walking/ sight seeing as most of Slovenia is day-trippable from the house if you hire a car.

Family, Nature relax

This fully equipped property has been very comfortable for our 9 people family . The ground floor with its nice fireplace and kitchen-living room area has been cosyand welcoming for all our dinners and get together moments. The bedroom with the bunk bed (sleeping 4 people) could have been larger but we managed by moving two beds in one of the other two larger bedrooms. all beds are very comfortable.
The view from the house over the valley is breathtaking.
The neighborhood consists in a few scattered other properties, first food market is at 6 km.
Perfect solution for those that like hiking, we left a map of hiking trails in the house. A nice trail to Rogla (hard but the views are unforgettable), Jurgovo, Oplotnica.etc.
Perfect for family get togethers and for those who need peace and quite.

Rest and explore Slovenia

We have found the house convenient enough to rest and to explore Slovenia. The instruction to find the house first time was not easy to use for us (our GPS map or people we met were not helpful enough as well). But finally, it was just great! Peace and a great view. We have not experienced any failures in the house and we really enjoyed the stay there.
Our general experience from Slovenia was that it is a very nice country, people, mountains and roads.

Owner's Response: For future renters we provide an enhanced set of directions and maps in pdf format. Our house is in a quiet setting, however it is not remote, the additional detail should ensure finding it for the first time is straightforward.
