Summer Activities: In addition to the extensive network of trails available from the house. Maribor which is a 45minute drive is host to the mountain biking world cup. The down hill world cup run is open to the public and is served by a chair lift which runs all year round. The river Drava is one of the richest fishing rivers in Europe for course fishing with over 50 different species of fish. For quality fly fishing I found the river Savinja on route to the Logarska valley approx 45min drive to be very good. Permits are available locally. Walking is a pleasant pastime at any time of year in this region, which has countless wooded trails. Farmhouse tourism ensures that you can always find a lunch stop with great home cooked food produced and prepared on the farm. There is a golf course close to the town of Slovenske Konjice about 20min by car. The course is set amongst vineyards and has a stream running through the centre and includes 9 holes with a total course length of 2500m and a par of 35

Winter Activities: Skiing, Snowboarding and cross-country skiing are very good from December until March in the immediate area. The ski resort at Rogla is not only one of the largest in Slovenia but at 1500m is also one the highest. You will find everything that you need for your skiing holiday ski rental, servicing, restaurants and a kindergarten . A fabulous leisure facility stands at the top of the lift system with Olympic class facilities for both indoor and outdoor sports a pool, thermal baths and saunas. For adrenalin junkies there is a 1.4km toboggan run close to the Ski Centre.

Ski: Rogla ski resort sits at 1500m and is best suited for family skiers groups comprising beginner and intermediate skiers. The ski area has is spread of an area of 90 hectares with 12km of downhill pistes and 18 km of cross country trails. Rogla Olympic and Ski centre is excellently equipped and has its own spa with swimming pool saunas, and steam rooms. The centre has an excellent range of Ski and Snowboard equipment for hire at very reasonable cost. There is a snowboard park and night skiing is available at this resort. The adreline sled run has a decent of 1.36km and is open all year round. There are squash courts a gymnasium and an indoor climbing wall. Our house is approx 8km from the resort and can be reached by car or by the ski bus which passes the end of the road.
