Louis Head Beach is a picturesque coastal community on the Atlantic Ocean, with golden sand and abundant wildlife. For theatre, fine dining, museums, shops and other attractions, Shelburne is approximately 35 minutes away; while Lockeport is a 15 minutes drive. Lockeport ’s Crescent Beach is a stunning 1.5 km scimitar of white sand. A Beach Centre hosts a number beach parties and a Sea Derby. Also worth investigating is Nova Scotia's only Registered Historic Streetscape, made up of five houses built by descendants of Jonathan Locke between 1836 and 1876. The houses offer an interesting cross section of historical architecture with excellent examples of Colonial, Georgian and Victorian styles. Shelburne is a charming historic town set on a truly spectacular harbour unspoiled by industry or shipping. The Dory Museum is worth a visit - established in 1880, it was part of a vibrant dory-building industry. Charlotte Lane Cafe is perhaps the best restaurant along the South Shore.
