The top of out traditional stone barn (ground level) has been renovated into 2 gites. Just 5km from Bagneres de Bigorre - La Parede is set high on the hills, away from it all. We have 22 acres of unspoilt countryside. A paradise for walking, fishing, biking, skiing, painting, bird watching, golf & all outdoor activities - a wonderful place to relax. The gites have been finished to a very high standard. Skiing at Tourmalet (La Mongie and Bareges) - 100km of pistes, making it the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees - is just 1/2 hour drive away. Bagneres has restaurants, bars, covered market, casino, spa and much more. Wintertime we are ideally situated to enjoy the snow. Summertime its a great place to relax and unwind, bar b cue or just sit and enjoy the views!. Close by is Lourdes (20 mins drive), Garvanie and the Pic du Midi observatory. Our accommodation is ideal for all year round rentals.

Le Parede is situated just 5 minutes drive from the spa town of Bagneres de Bigorre. The town has everything - shops, bars, restaurants, spa, swimming pool and much more. Just 30 minutes from the ski resort of Tourmalet (La Mongie/Bareges), the largest ski resort in the Pyrenees. Lourdes, the pilgrimage town, is also just 20 minutes drive away. Tarbes is a busy large town just 30 minutes drive from here. For keen golfers, Bagneres has a great golf course with stunning mountain views and superb greens & fairways. Lourdes Golf Course is just 20 minutes away - and a dream for those who like a real challenge. There are numerous other golf courses withing easy reach (Pau - the oldest golf course in France, 1 hour away). All outdoor activities are right here on our doorstep. Parascending, White water rafting, Canyoning, Hiking, Cycling - take your pick!. Spain is only 1 hours drive away.

Notes: Outside the gites there is a purpose built patio/bar b cue area for our guests use. We also have 22 acres around the gites for our guests to wander, find a sunny spot and just relax. We have a picnic area, with swings just past our chicken house, that has stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Wander down the lane and meet some of the local deer! Fish in the stream which runs along side the road up to our property. The refurbishment of our old stone barn was completed in 2007 - our guests have often commented on the very high standard of furnishing and equipment we have provided.

2 weeks of bliss

The gite is fabulously accommodated and you WILL not get better value for money. Top that off with the incredibly friendly & informative hosts, Astrid & Barrie, and it's a guaranteed cracking holiday.

The location is great, up a mountain side where the the gentle breeze will cool you down while you sit in the shade of covering foliage on the patio, preferably with a cold drink.

For the sportingly minded, you have all the famous Pyrenean Tour de France climbs at your doorstep and if you're a golfer, well, you couldn't be better served than with Astrid & Barrie as they are keen/gifted (delete as appropriate, Astrid & Barrie) golfers themselves and can recommend courses nearby.
Owner's Response: Its so good when people enjoy themselves enough here to say such nice things and to take the time to say so.
We have been very lucky to have received a lot of positive feedback from our guests and will continue to strive for excellence in providing good accomodation and service - in a friendly atmosphere.

Spectacular location - lovely accomodation!

The location is spectacular, so peaceful and quiet. The accomodation is lovely and clean - but what really made our stay so great was the hospitality shown by Barrie & Astrid. They were so generous with their time and local knowledge - thank you. We will be recommending the gite to all our friends.

Skiing @ Bareges/La Mongie - staying at Le Parede

The skiing at Bareges/La Mongie is great - excellent resort - an easy 30 minute drive from Le Parede. Staying at Le Parede you have the best of both worlds. We skied all day and had Bagneres de Bigorre (5 mins from Le Parede) to visit the bars & restaurants and the excellent Spa (only 15 euros a visit). The gites are fab - so warm and cosy.......will be back next year!
Owner's Response: We went skiing with John and his girlfriend the first time to show them around - they were very impressed with the variety of skiing available.
They were pleased they stayed away from the resort - its very quiet and peaceful here - and they just relaxed and went walking & sightseeing a couple of the days.

Accommodation and location......brilliant. Walkers are in their element - keen cyclists can challenge themselves on the climbs their Tour de France heroes have done. Col de Tourmalet is only 18km from Le Parede. Great holiday.....we will be back!
