Set in 33 acres of vineyards, olive trees, woods, this spacious and comfortable former wine domain house has 4 double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms, a spacious second lounge/optional 5th bedroom with 2 single beds if required, a 10M x 5M pool surrounded by extensive terracing, perfect for summer dining. This is a house is full of light with superb views from all rooms. It has been tastefully renovated by the current owners, in colours reflecting the Mediterranean light. The elegant and spacious main salon and dining room have a combined area of 62 m². A glass-paned door leads onto the front terrace which has particularly exquisite views, just the place to watch the sunset and enjoy that first evening aperitif. The fully equipped modern kitchen has a terracotta tiled floor, and French doors opening out to an al-fresco breakfast table. Having passed through stone-pillared gates, you arrive in your own private paradise.

The domaine house stands alone on gentle foothills with stunning views. Vineyards surround the domaine making it ideal for walks and picnics. And of course wine-tasting at the numerous local wineries where you will find the Herault's best producers. However the nearest village is just 1km . Here you find a truly excellent restaurant, a friendly bar-café, artisan baker, general store. A larger village is some 3kms away with 2 lively bars and more restaurants. In the summer both villages host fetes and live music events. The historical town of Pezenas, famed for it's connection with the dramatist Moliere, is a 15 minute drive. Every Saturday there is a wonderfully vibrant street market which is a meeting point for locals, foreign residents and tourists alike. Mediterranean beaches are close by, ranging from a 7-mile stretch of sand at Marseillan Plage to lively, cosmopolitan resorts like Cap d'Agde. And just an hour's drive away, the sophisitication of the city of Montpelli

  • For parties of less than 6 out of high season, we are more than happy to discuss reduced rates.

    For booking prices and availability after 10 October 2009, please contact the owner direct. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday (check in 4pm (to give us time to thoroughly clean the house), check out by 10am unless agreed in advance.
    25% deposit of total rent payable is required before a booking can be confirmed.
    Obviously normal wear and tear is expected. However a refundable deposit of £600 to cover any major breakages or serious damage is required with the 2nd rental payment, i.e. 8 weeks before the booking starts.

  • All 5 bedrooms are of good size, with views over the vines or swimming pool. Each has its own ensuite bathroom and there is also a separate cloak room with an additional lavatory. Bedroom 5 as listed above is normally used as a 2nd sitting room but there are two comfortable single beds which can be placed there so that it can sleep 2 more people. We also can place an extra single bed in two of the bedrooms to make them able to sleep 3 people. We are always very happy to discuss bedroom/bed configurations to make certain that everything is as comfortable as possible.

About contacting us: We really would prefer initial contact by emaiil as we travel a lot and don't really like using mobile phones . We always have a laptop with us so will pick up emails every day and, if you would like us to telephone you, we are more than happy to do so.

Golf: There are 3 golf courses within half an hour's drive. My husband is an avid golfer and therefore a font of knowledge about all the local courses and amenities. He is always happy to make up numbers in a game too.

Other Activities: Just sitting by the pool, enjoying a glass of cool rosé at sundown, wine-tasting and eating, visitng nearby Haut Languedoc National Park (stunning)

Your house and surroundings are truly splendid - we had such a wonderful stay and loved 'la vie francaise'. Beaches, mountains, great food, lovely village-life - what more could we have wanted from a holiday. Returned home refreshed and over-weight, but determined to visit again.

We have just returned from a delightful stay at this villa. Many excellent points:
Large, clean house with comfortable rooms and lovely views.
Very interesting property with being a former wine domain.
Spacious and attractive pool and BBQ area.
The pretty village of Neffies is an easy walk away - fantastic for getting fresh croissants for breakfast!
Wonderful weather!


Can certainly recommend!

La Grange de Bouys

La Grange de Bouys was just like its photos - set amongst the vineyards with complete privacy and beautiful views.
The house was extremely spacious and well equipped,although we had most of our meals outside on the large terrace by the pool.
Our hosts who were slightly eccentric but extremely charming live in a seperate house on the estate,,were there when we needed help but otherwise did not intrude.
This part of France is unspoilt and has an authenticity that is becoming hard to find.
Pezenas is a picturesque market town with a good choice of restaurants and especially fun on the late night shopping evenings where all the artisan shops in the Old Town stay open until midnight and you can combine eating dinner with some retail therapy between courses.
The coast is within easy striking distance with wonderful little seaside towns with charming restaurants,especially the fish, moules and oysters!

Staying at La Grange de Bouys

Had the weather been better in Summer 2008, this would have been a dream holiday - as it was, La Grange de Bouys and its beautiful setting made up a lot for cloudy days! The description of the property was accurate and the pictures helpful - as we were holidaying with two families (six boys between us!), we were most grateful for the spacious accommodation and lots of room outdoors. The setting is marvellous, with very little noise of any kind apart from church bells and birdsong now and again - it's very peaceful and makes a wonderful retreat when you've had a day out at the beach or visiting local sights.

The pool and outdoor furniture were used a great deal and the view from the balcony off the lounge is fantastic. The kitchen is very well stocked with utensils, crockery and so on, and local shopping (we especially liked Pezenas) was great and inspired us to do a lot of cooking.

Our hosts were charming and helpful, giving good advice about shopping, eating out and sightseeing. A car is essential to enjoy this area to the full. I would certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting to get to know this part of France - though you may struggle to leave it once you've got settled!
