We are right in the midst of the cultural centre of Italy. Florence, Siena, Gubbio, Spoleto, Rome and Assisi are all within easy driving distance. Also a fantastic train and bus service from Chiusi. You can get a fast train to Rome, one hour and twenty minutes; and Florence, where it is very difficult to park in the city, under two hours.
Arezzo is well worth exploring. Principally the lengthy restoration work on, the Legend of the Cross, the famous cycle of frescoes by Piero della Francesca in the church of San Francesco, has at last been completed. Also the Antique Market of Arezzo, is held the first week-end of every month on Saturday and Sunday. Serenella, a colourful eating-house in Citta della Pieve, a fascinating hilltop town 20 mins away. Good Umbrian cooking, even the local priest eats there. Plus many other interesting trattorias. Fashion Bargains at, The Mall, in Leccio, 1hr 15 mins away by car. A collection of designer outlets selling surplus and out of season stock.
