Beautiful, characterful & luxury holiday apartment has 3 bedrooms all with ensuite bathrooms. Possibility of 2 doubles with 1 twin or, 2 twins with 1 double, depending on your requirements. Enormous sun & shady terrace overlooking the river & the hills opposite. Perfect for barbeque's & quiet relaxation. Village has 4 restaurants a bar as well as shops & galleries. The local area rich in Cathar history, is perfect for walking /cycling /riding/swimming, with the Mediterranean beaches only 40 mins away. The Pyrnees & Carcassonne's famous mediaeval walled 'cite' & airport only 45 minutes away. The apartment has been furnished with individually found and carefully selected objects so is really unique in its style. It is light & spacious with modern comfort within walls rich in history. The house forms part of the original rampart walls surrounding the village with a beautifully cool cobbled courtyard separating the two parts of the house. A market with delicious organic food on Saturdays.

Close to the world heritage site Carcassonne, Lagrasse, officially nominated 'one of the most beautiful villages of France' has much to offer. Easy access from either Carcassonne, Toulouse, Montpellier or Perpignan airports. Close to the famous Fauvist centre Coulioure and the unspoilt villages of northern Spain. Walking, cycling, fishing, windsurfing, canoeing are all available for the active holidaymaker. Alternatively visit heritage sights such as Peyrepertruse, the Abbey Fontfroid or the Abbey in Lagrasse itself. For those wanting to 'take it easy' the calm of the village and surrounding hills with their scents of wild rosemary and thyme provide a perfect location.

  • A booking deposit of 25% of the rental fee is required on confirmation of booking. Balance of rental to be paid not later than 1 month prior to arrival date. A refundable damages deposit of 500€ is required payable not later than three weeks prior to your arrival date. The refund will be made within two weeks of your departure subject to a satisfactory property inspection. All payments may be made in Euros or Pounds sterling. All linens are included in your rental and a 'welcome pack' of essentials will greet your arrival. We are also happy to arrange a meal, either a restaurant reservation, or a home cooked meal for 20€ per person including wine.

  • Each of the 3 bedrooms have their own ensuite bath or shower room. They are comfortably and uniquely furnished with antique beds and old french armoirs or, as in the case of the 3rd room, the beds have been specially made. The largest bedroom which we call 'The Ecclectic Room' has a beautiful old Spanish bed and a Moroccan styled mezzanine which can be made into an additional single bed if required. The bathroom has a deep claw foot bath and shower. The Second bedroom, or 'The French Room' has two Louis XV headboards which can either be made as an enormous double or separated into 2 singles. Both these bedrooms overlook the river and the hills opposite. Our 3rd bedroom is on an upper floor and overlooks the internal courtyard.

Notes: Our luxury apartment is accessed through the internal courtyard, once a cobbled lane dividing two houses. It is on the 1st floor up an attractive old spiral staircase. It has a wonderful view over the river Orbieu from where one can wind down to the gentle sounds of flowing river water, birdsong or mating frogs (!) Children are welcome, although we feel it more suitable for slightly more mature 12 year upwards. This said, do feel free to call and discuss this with us. The living space has a lovely terrace off it and gives the apartment its bright open feel. The enormous top terrace also overlooks the river and is accessed by continuing up the spiral stairs.
