Baia Azzurra village is a quiet area up on the hill at the end of Capitana beach, in the south east coast of Sardinia on the panoramic way from Cagliari to Villasimius. The bay, that takes the name from this residential area, is at walking distance and Capitana sandy beach is at 2 minutes walk either from the bay or the road. in the village, at walking distance from the house, the archeological site of Nuraghe Diana, the most important Nuraghe of South East Sardinia. Thiis is the perfect location to enjoy the sea and the beautiful beaches along the coast (Mari Pintau, Torre delle Stelle, Solanas, Villasimius) not being too far from the city. Cagliari, the main city of Sardinia, is only 15 minutes away. home away from home along beautiful coast

we had a lovely stay at the wonderful villa. sergio and fiorella met us upon our arrival with a bottle of sardinian wine and local pasta. the house was cute with an artsy flair. it was near the coast and there was a market nearby. it is situated midway between villasimius and cagliari, both great places to explore. beds were comfy, there was plenty of space for four of us. it has a pretty view of the sea, but there is a steep walk to the sea and we didn't find a beach within walking distance to lay out on. but there are plenty of beautiful beaches within a 10+ minute drive. overall we had a wonderful experience and would recommend the place to anyone.
Owner's Response: probably because of our poor english i assume we didn't explain properly how to reach the beach.. I'm really sorry about this as one of the best things of this area is the fact that you can easily reach capitana beach walking.
moreover once you get down the hill walking, there is an underpass under the road to get to the bay in the picture.we always go there walking from the house..it might be crowded in august and i would understand not finding place to lay out on, but not in november!!!
i'm sorry they didn't find it.. hopefully it would be for next time!!!!

Our perfect holiday

We had a lovely holiday.The house it was large enough, was clean and tidy, but the downstairs toilet leaked as did the water heater which dripped on the stairs. Minor things that i am sure will get sorted. Sergio and his family were there to meet us, they were so friendly and helpful and left us a very nice welcome pack. I am sure that if we spent longer in their company we would have become great friends.
I would definately recommend the property, and would hope to visit again. You do need a car and is a bit isolated, but within easy travelling distance of many of the sights. We wanted a quiet relaxing holiday and that is exactly what we got - it was perfect. The view of the sea and the sunsets from the lounge window were brilliant.
I am so pleased that we found this place on the internet.

Holiday home with magnificant view

Fiorella and Sergio welcome their guests like members of the family and offer more a home than a holiday house. The villa has everything to ensure a good stay, best of all the spectacular view of the sea, especially when the sun sets over Capitana beach. We enjoyed our stay enormously and can only recommend a holiday at Fiorella and Sergio's in Baia Azzura.

Sardinia made easy!

We just had to make the most of the direct flights from Edinburgh to Cagliari! However, finding accommodation and car hire were proving to be a problem until I wrote to the very hospitable and honest owners of this villa. Prior to booking I found myself asking a lot of questions that had been raised when in communication with owners of other possible villas. The answers to all of my questions were the ones I was looking for eg towels were provided, gas and electricity was covered for normal use and cleaning at the end of our stay was not going to cost an arm and a leg even if we did not have time to clean it. We communicated in English as the family speak
very good English.

There was plenty of space for 4 adults and my 6 year old son who slept on the fold out bed in the living room-it was really comfy. Everything was there that we could possibly have needed even down to toothpaste. We made use of the wood burning fire.

The medium sized shop not far away was more than adequate to supply us with
everything we needed to eat in all week.

Car hire looked like it was going to be a problem for us as the flight did not arrive until after all of the car hire places in the airport had closed. However, Sergio’s family made it all easily possible to get to the villa and get car rental when we needed it.

We spent one day in Cagliari and I was amazed at the range of bead shops. We had lunch at the cool restaurant at the top of the castle which was a bit disappointing as they didn’t do pizzas until night time and our pasta cost a small fortune. With the car we did travel around a bit and we enjoyed a day at miniature Sardinia.

The local beach is really close with rocks and sand and stones-we managed to waste away a couple of afternoons in some shaded coves. Sardinia is lovely and quite. The driving is much better than in France and quieter (in April).

In April the weather was Ok-a bit like a good Scottish summer-2 days out of 7 had light showers and the temperature was about 20 degrees C.

Unfortunately a couple of small items were broken during out stay but our deposit was returned in full.

Sergio and Fiorella and Family really did bend over backwards for us and made us feel very welcome and at home :) I have recommended this villa to all of my friends!
