Situated in the unspoilt area of Lunigiana, in Northern Tuscany, this charming cottage in a rural location offers a peaceful and relaxing escape. Situated between the mountains and the coast, within easy reach of the beautiful Gulf of Poets, the stunning coastline of the Cinque Terre in Liguria and the ski resort of Cerreto. The walled city of Lucca is just a train ride away. Fabulous opportunities for walking in the nearby hills. Close to a small lake and river, with areas for river bathing in the cool mountain water, to the backdrop of the stunning Alpi Apuane. During Summer months, there is a large swimming pool just 10 minutes away. A large garden, offers a very tranquil atmosphere for relaxing during hot, sunny afternoons and for B-B-Cues. Ideal for families, couples or groups. Local amenities within walking distance. Local restaurants serve fabulous food, from pizza to pasta, to fresh fish, to game dishes. Notes: There are two balconies - one at the side of the property, accessible from the kitchen/lounge with table and chairs; one upstairs at the front of the cottage, with stunning views of the mountains. The upstairs double bedroom is accessible through the twin room, so suitable for families or groups of singles. Twin vaulted cellar houses home made wine, which guests are free to drink (the wine is very rustic, so you may need to open a couple of bottles until you find a good one!) 'Thank you for a wonderful stay at La Casetta della Vigna, a lovely cottage in a superb countryside setting, a short walk to local shops and restaurants, a short drive to the market town of Aulla and with stunning coastal villages and mountains within a half hours drive' C Sheppard
'Whether you need a romantic getaway, a family break or just a holiday with friends, this is the place for you. It has all the facilities you will need and has a good supermarket and restaurants close by. You are also well placed for access to the coast, places like Pisa & within easy reach of the mountains. fab holiday in Italian cottage

We have thoroughly enjoyed our third visit to this cottage, which we have found extremely comfortable, well equiped, and sparkly clean!
The whole family found the house very relaxing to stay in, due to the large variety of facilities at hand, from cookery appliances and utensils, to bikes in the canteena, comfy sunbeds and beach towels.
The views are stunning, especially at sunset and very enjoyable whilst out sunbathing out on the terrace! We found the recent addition of the garden an added bonus ,and enjoyed many BBQ's and afternoons there!
The owner has provided an abundance of information, that has made our holiday very enjoyable. She has been able to help us out with so many tasks from ordering the bread from the bakers to giving indispensable knowlege on local restaurants, markets and fetes. Her advice on where to eat was enormously helpful and an added extra that we wouldn't expect.
We would definitely recommend this property to any of our friends or faimily and can't wait to come back again soon.
The location of the cottage allowed us to enjoy a wide range of activities from mountain walking and exploring mountain villages, to the cinque terre, the local swimming pool and the city of Luca; which was enjoyable for all the family.

Simply lovely

We have had a great holiday!
La Casetta della Vigna proved to be the ideal base for exploring the coast, mountains and nearby scenic villages and cities.
The cottage is simply lovely, well-equipped and spacious. All our suppers were enjoyed on the upper terrace with its brilliant views. We had a couple of days with less sight-seeing relaxing in the garden with a good book. Thanks for providing such a choice of holiday literature, including maps and guide books!
The boys loved swimming/floating/playing in the local river; less crowded than the Mediterranean. We all also enjoyed watching BBC, and having internet was a great bonus. A big thank you to Julie for her generosity and kindness!

Lovely holiday home

We had a very enjoyable two weeks in this lovely house where we had everything we needed and felt very welcome. The views are beautiful and it was so good to sit out in the garden on a balmy July evening - or walk up to the local pizzeria then watch the fireflies in the lane on the way back. Julie, the owner, lives next door and she was generous and helpful - there's also lots of local info provided in the house.
Pallerone itself is fairly plain but there are loads of lovely places within easy reach - you can get almost anywhere on the train from Aulla - we went to Florence(early start!) on the train which made a long day but well worth it. We drove to Lucca where there are several car parks just outside the city walls.
If you get tired of scenery and ice-cream go to Genoa where there is a fantastic aquarium and a museum of the sea on the waterfront.
If it's too hot, go to the caves at Equi Terme or the Grotte di Venti, or have a dip in the river.
I would happily recommend this property to friends and would very much like to stay there again myself.

Great base to explore the region

A big thanks goes to Julie for her hospitality, making us feel so welcome, and providing so much information on the local facilities and places to visit.

We had a great time and the apartment was a great base to visit both the seaside and stunning hilltop towns. It was fantastically clean (lovey fresh linen), the balcony on the top level was a perfect place to catch some sun, and the Wifi was a bonus.

It was also an ideal location having the river and walks nearby for our dog, and so refreshing to find easy going dog friendly accommodation. It was also really handy having the supermarket so close too - which sold loads of yummy Italian treats at great prices. Loved the fresh Focaccia! And we are now addicted to Lemoncino, thanks to Julies home-made treat she left for us.
