Ups and Downs

The villa itself is fine and well equipped. The pool is - as advertised - a smallish plunge pool not a swimming pool. No complaints at all here.
Communication with the owner prior to going was also very effiecient and clear.
As advertised the villa is a bit of a way from the beach - and up a long hill - but the views are good and the elevation does help with a bit of a breeze.
The villa had been cleaned to a fair degree before we arrived but some of the surfaces were a bit dusty.
Arriving quite late in the evening we were pretty disappointed at the "welcome pack". In other villas we have been provided with wine, fresh milk, fresh bread, juice, eggs, ham, jam, butter, cheese and even fruit - for the first evening/next morning. Here we got a bottle of water and some tea/coffee stuff with long life milk and some spread, sachets of jam and a packet of crispbreads. The bottles of wine were welcome though!
We were also a little disappointed that there were no beach umbrellas supplied - there have been at the previous 2 or 3 villas we have stayed at and we left the 2 we bought for the next people.
The local agent was helpful when we had an elecrical breakdown - a ceiling fan went on the blink and kept shorting out the power.
Owner's Response: The problem we had during this visit was that these were the first people to go immediately after the fires in southern Spain which engulfed the hillside surrounding the villa. The villa luckily escaped any structural damage but there was a lot of residual dust in the area to cope with. The villa is now fully restored to its former glory. In respect of the Welcome Pack, unlike many rentals we leave appropriate refreshments free of charge and princapally for the convenience of late night arrivals. We would be happy to leave more substantial supplies by prior arrangement.
