A modern villa set in private 'residence' of 34 properties with a beautiful shared pool (open late May to late September). Set in landscaped grounds. Private parking. Living/dining room leading on to large terrace. Kitchen fully equiped with clothes and dishwasher, hob, combination oven/microwave, fridge /freezer. 3 spacious bedrooms ( two double, one twin). Bathroom. 2nd seperate W.C. BBQ, TV, CD. Only a few minutes walk from a beautiful clean beach. Near restaurants, shops, church, pier, market and marina old part of town. Bike hire, water sports and tennis in season. About 10 mins from A9 Toll peage, Valras Plage is excellently situated for exploring the Languedoc or simply relaxing in the beautifully clean air and swimming in clear water.

Valras-Plage is near Beziers on the Mediterranean coast about 20KM south west of Cap D'Agde. The resort of itself has a 4 Km sandy beach, patrolled by life guards during the main season, a harbour and a Marina , twice weekly market, many fine restaurants, bars and even a Casino. The town centre has the usual selection of shops, banks (with Atms), a post-office and a tourist office which can give advice on local attractions and activities. The area is serviced by a large Hyper-U at Sérignan, just 4 minutes drive out of the town. The villa makes an ideal base for relaxing, sampling local food and wine, exploring the old French towns and countryside of the Hérault and Aude regions or enjoying the many local activities. These range from sailing off the beach, horse riding and go-karting for the energetic amongst us to relaxing walks by the nearby Canal du Midi. Valras-Plage is easily reached from a number of airports served by the budget airlines (e.g. Ryanair and EasyJet) from the UK.

Fantastic location

Myself and four friends (aged 25-27) rented this villa for a week in June 2007 and we were very pleasantly surprised with the accomodation and the location of the villa. There was plenty of room with two double rooms and a twin room. There was a fan in each room if you found it too warm and the the whole villa was spotless. My favourite part was the large veranda where we would all sit out for lunch or dinner and a glass of wine most days. The complex seemed very safe and there was a very clean communal pool right beside the villa, we did prefer the beach though which was only a 2 min walk away. The beach again was very clean and not too crowded. The short stroll from the villa along the beach down to the centre of the town was just lovely. There were lots and lots of restaurants to choose from and to suit each budget. We tried quite a few and were not disappointed but i also loved getting fresh seafood and bread etc at the local markets and having having this out on the veranda. We had hired a car so found there were lots of towns and attractions nearby to visit, there was plenty of information in the villa on things to do and see in the area. One evening we got the bus into the nearby town of Beziers for a music festival (the bus stop is about 2 min from the villa) and got a taxi on the way back so it wasn't too expensive. There was plenty of shops and things to do around the town so having a car was definitely not essential. I found the location had a great mix whether you were looking for lots of activities and sightseeing or relaxation. I would recommend this villa to a friend and am hoping to return again this summer.

We stayed here in August and had a lovely time. Accomodation was smaller than I expected but had everything we needed. We sat out on the verandah every evening and also barbequed several times. We loved the walk along the promenade to the shops, restaurants and markets. There were lots of families out in the evening which was very nice. We also enjoyed the beach which was clean and safe. The communal pool was very nice and my youngest child enjoyed cycling around the complex. We would definitely come here again

Ideal family location

We stayed at this villa for two weeks last summer (2008). We have four children aged 9 down to 1 and it suited us perfectly. It was lovely and clean, and although quite small, we never felt cramped and the bedrooms were a good size. The kitchen is fine and there is always the take-away pizza stand 2 mins away!! I don't know what the previous reviewer meant about not walking distance - we found everything very handy and a long, lovely clean, well-tended beach perfect for the children. We did not eat out since all the children are small, but there were lots of restaurants along the beach. It is definitely a tourist town, but so much to do in the area. For children its fantastic. The balcony does back onto a road, but apart from Saturday night, the noise was no more than you would expect from a central villa in a town full of holidaymakers! We and the children had no problems sleeping. The communal pool was lovely too, although some of the other residents were not too keen on having four lively boys splashing about. Still, they preferred the beach. We would definitely recommend this villa for a fun, beach holiday with the children.

Stayed in this Villa 4-11th september with my four friends (all aged between 21-23) and had a ball. For us it was ideally situated- only a 2min walk to the beach. The villa is very comfortable and spotless and a fan in every room. For us the biggest bonus was sitting out the back of the house on the veranda in the evening times with candles lit, and some good food and wine. I would definitely recommend renting bikes- its 25e/wk and ideal for flying into town/the supermarket/up the coast.The french all cycle!! The town seems to be a very popular holiday location for older french couples but we found lots to do if you are a little more active! We rented mopeds one day and drove along the Canal du Midi to Cap d'Agde where we went to Aqualand. Also went kayaking down Roquebrun which was amazing- the valley is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Both my friends and I would like to say a big thankyou to Pat&Joanne who were very helpful answering our many questions! Merci!

Unfortunately my family stayed for 2 weeks in August and found the terrace backed on to a road which was used as a 'rat-run' by cars & scooters resulting in lots of noise & fumes & meant we had to close the windows at night, the villa is also near the recycling bins. One of the bedroom fans did not work and there is noone to contact should anything go wrong. The villa is not in walking distance of town and parking in August is a nightmare, the only entertainment close is the funfair or the casino, no decent restaurants to walk to. You can walk to the beach & the on site pool is good.
