Casa Foz sleeps 6. in a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom spacious, fully equipped modern house in the heart of Portugal's unspoilt and beautiful Silver Coast. The house is set in a quiet location close to local amenities and the lagoon/beach. Large south facing terrace with brick BBQ and balconies with views of lagoon. The house has a large south facing terrace with brick BBQ, which, together with two of the bedrooms, have views over the lagoon and surrounding countryside. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom, and as with the other two twin rooms, has fitted wardrobes and ample storage space. The main bathroom has a spa bath. The large kitchen has everything you need for self catering. The house is in a condominium of four houses. The house has 2 small landscaped gardens. The house has central heating and is therefore ideal for exploring this beautiful region of Portugal off-season. Foz Do Arelho is 3 minutes walk. Golf nearby.

Foz Do Arelho is 3 minutes walk. The village is surrounded by Eucalyptus and Pine forests, and nestles on the large lagoon. There are acres of golden, sandy beaches. Caldas is the main town nearby (10 minute drive) and has all the usual amenities including banks, supermarkets and a market. Both are accessible from J18 of the N8 motorway. The historic walled city of Obidos is 8kms, and the wonderful monastery at Alcobaca is 30kms. The pretty port of Peniche is 15 km away. The amazing caves around Mira de Aire are 40 kms. Lisbon is a 1 hr drive to the South, Porto around 2.5hrs to the North. Foz is a village but has mini-market, bar/cafes, restaurants, health centre, tourist office, pharmacy, a bank and a fishing tackle shop. Office facilities (Internet/email/telephone access) are available through our helpful English-speaking agent, within walking distance.

  • Please contact the owner by email. 20% deposit required on booking, the balance 6 weeks prior to travel (full amount payable if booked within 6 weeks of arrival). Last minute offers may be available. All year round bookings available, including longer term discounts in the low season. Saturday changeovers are preferred, although this may be flexible in the low season. Arrival after 4pm, departure by 10am. There is an extra charge for cleaning & laundry.
    Bank transfer charges are the responsibility of the renter, not the owner.
    Cancellation refunds:
    Up to 8 weeks – no cancellation charge
    4-8 weeks – 50% of rate refunded
    2-4 weeks – 25% of rate refunded
    Less than 2 weeks – no refund
    Any bank transfer charges incurred will be deducted.
    No refunds will be made until payments have fully cleared.

Vicinity/beach: The lagoon is 10 minutes walk, the beach 5 minutes further on. The lagoon provides safe bathing for children. It is also excellent for some watersports and fishing. There are numerous cafes/restaurants along the lagoon and beach. Foz beach is a fantastic strip of fine golden sand. Other beaches such as Sao Martinho are 15 mins drive. There is a popular nightclub about half a mile away. Foz Do Arelho is 3 minutes walk. Foz is a village but has mini-market, bar/cafes, restaurants, health centre, tourist office, pharmacy, a bank and a fishing tackle shop. The house remains cool in the summer, but central heating is available for low season use. Our helpful, English-speaking agent can provide office facilities (internet/email/telephone access) and is available within walking distance. Golf: Praia D'El Rey and Golden Eagle golf courses are only 15/30 minutes drive. There are several courses nearer Lisbon 1 hour away.

We cannot be held responsible for injury/accidents that occur in the house or on the balconies and terrace. A wonderful getaway! Location was perfect!

Stayed at Casa Foz for 2 weeks in July 2009. It was ideally located for day trips to Lisbon/Porto/Sintra/Obidos. The local village is nearby for cafes, restaurants and also has some mini mercados for fresh bread and produce. Caldas da Rainha is minutes away by car and we found it very easy to access. Again, you have to drive so it is ideal to have a car. The beach is easily accessible from casa Foz, a 15 minute walk and the beach is fabulous - less than 5 minutes by car. Parking can be a challenge in the summer so I recommend walking. We also enjoyed hanging out on the patios by the beach in Foz.
We would highly recommend Casa Foz. An ideal location for touring the region with plenty of fish/shellfish restaurants just a few minutes away.

Foz Heaven

Taking a late Autumn break to unwind from a very busy Summer, we were so fortunate to find this wonderful property. From arrival at the front door, the cleanliness and welcoming aura of the property, staged the mood for the week. This was November, not beach weather, yet each morning, we sat on the patio, basking in the warmth of the sun, enjoying breakfast whilst looking over the Lagoon. Easy access to the beach, countryside and the local towns and sights was amazing. I hope that I am as busy next summer, so that I need another restful Autumn break like this one.

Our Perfect Holiday

We had nine days holiday here and it really wasn't enough. Firstly the house was much bigger than we thought it would be, all the bedrooms are very spacious and the living area a great space, the kitchen is huge! We found with three teenagers it was a perfect size, we had an ensuite shower room and the teenagers shared the main bathroom, as well as this there is a downstairs loo!
We did not miss not having a pool at all as the beach is a short distance away, we drove most days and it was a quick 5 minutes, about 15 minutes walking. The beach is perfect, the bars, cafes and restaurants in Foz all welcoming, it does not feel overally touristing at all. We visited Obidos which is beautiful and drove to a couple of the other local seaside towns but preferred Foz!
We plan to go back (without teenagers) to see a lot more of the local countryside both inland and on the coast.
It really was a perfect beach holiday. Thank you Dave & April!

Holiday with the Portuguese (not the Brits)

The house was better than described, all local amenities were good although as with most coastal locations, is not recommended for those with walking difficulties. The locals were very friendly and helpful especially in the cafe/restaurant in the Plaza. Well positioned to visit places of interest, such as Caldas da Rainha, Nazare, Sao Martinho, Obidos, Lourinha, Alacobaca.
The property was very spacious although due to an admin error needed cleaning. The local agent however was most attentative and corrected any problems without delay. Would certainly recommend the property and hope to return in the future.
