Situated in the quiet rural valley of La Charterie aux Grands, between the village of Sourdeval and the historic market town of Vire with its shops, restaurants, sports facilities and the lively markets. St Germain de Tallevende, being only five minutes away, has a renowned auberge restaurant, shops and tennis courts. The larger town of Mortain being only ten minutes drive with its Abbey and Waterfalls are ideal for an afternoons stroll! Just over forty-five minutes drive from the sandy beaches of the Cotentin peninsula, south of Granville, and a similar distance from Mont St Michel. The Port of Caen, Bayeux and the Normandy Landing Beaches an hour away and the Port of Cherbourg two hours. The forest of St Sever for woodland walks and abundant wildlife , the Lac de Dathee for watersports and the renowned golf course near Vire are all within ten miles.

Additional information about rental rates

  • A refundable deposit of £300.00 / Euro 350.00 will be required, to cover against any damage / breakages. This deposit will be returned within 10 working days subject to a satisfactory review of the property.

    Changeover Day - Saturday, Check-In from 16h00 with Check-Out by 10h00 the following Saturday, however outside of peak season we can be more flexible.

    Laundry is not included in the price, for costs see to follow: Double bed - £10.00, Single Bed - £5.00 per bed, Cot Linen - £5.00 per cot. Hand and Bath towels per person at £5.00. The costs are based on a per week basis.

    Broadband Internet Access Available at Euro 30.00 per week.

    Please note that this is a NO SMOKING cottage, all SMOKING must be outside and there will be a £50.00 cost if any smoking has occurred within the cottage to ensure the removal of any odour.
  • In order to confirm the rental of Beauly, a 10% deposit will be taken with the remainder of the rental and the breakages deposit required 3 months prior to arrival.
  • The property will be in a clean and tidy condition when you arrive and we ask that it is left in the same condition on your departure. Should you wish not to clean the house yourself on departure, to the level you found it, cleaning can be arranged via the caretaker for a charge of £25.00 per hour.
    Firewood can be purchased in advance at £50.00 for One Stair of Wood. (basically a Metre Squared)

The bedrooms are decorated in natural colours and will be prepared accordingly to your requirements.

Wonderful Secluded Garden: Beauly stands in its own large and well maintained gardens, the main of which is south facing, with lovely views of the local area and set in some two acres of land, part closed off for grazing and part orchard providing a shady and enclosed area. A patio with garden furniture and barbecue to the front and to the rear a further terrace with garden furniture with an enclosed area for children to play including swings. Five adult mountain bikes and a selection of children's bikes are provided.

Energy Usage: Please note that energy usage will be monitored and based on a fair use policy. The electricity metre will be read and a daily amount of electricity allocated. Any additional usage in excess of the agreed amount at the end of the rental will be charged at cost, as determined by EDF Energy. More information available on request. Through the cooler months, i.e. from 1st October through to the end of May an energy surcharge of 75.00 pounds will be payable per week of occupancy.

Wow, Stunning cottage with location to match!

Just returned from a fabulous week at Beauly! Weather was a little cold but the log fire more than made up for that! The house is exceptionally equiped with all mod cons and everything you might need. Everything is geared to all age groups, from young children to oldies like us! Fabulous location and great views, not to mention the restaurants in the area. 5 Star all the way. Thanks.

We spent the first 2 weeks of July 2008 in Beauly and found it was beyond our expectations. A very charming cottage in very pieceful and rural surroundings, away from all except nature. The gardens are beautiful and there is plenty of room to play and relax. The property proved to be very well equiped towards children (small bicycle, toys, playstation, cod etc).

The surroundings are great to simply drive through, but there are many towns and villages to visit in the vicinity as well, as well as a zoo, aquarium, musea etc. You will need a car to visit them. Unless you are a well-trained cyclist. Distances ary from 10 minutes to about an hours drive.

The property was tidy and service excellent. Booking over the internet did give me some concerns, but needlessly. The owner even pro actively contacted me to ask where to transfer the bond to.

I would (and indeed did) recommend the property to friends.
